Hey everyone, ive been stalking the forums here for a little while and this is the first year im really looking at getting into 3 gun. i have shot a few before with borrowed gear and i have limited amount of money (really only 6 or 700) to finish my gun setup. I right now have a glock 17 all stock which ill be using for my pistol, a 16 inch colt target AR 1/7 twist a2, and no shotgun. so my question is this for my shotgun i was looking at picking up a Mossberg 930 combo field secirity, in the comps i have shot i used an 870 and the pumping action is by far my biggest slow down. next right now i have an a2 AR with a red star 3x handle mounted scope and after the shotgun purchase i have about 2-300 left to spend. should i buy a stripped colt flattop upper and move barrel etc over to it, buy a new complete upper from any company and mate it to the colt lower, or just use my a2 upper with the scope mounted way up on the handle and spend the rest of my money on ammo for practice? if i buy a new upper ill have to shoot the first few matches with irons (i have never competed with a scope so its not a big change to what ive been doing). thanks for advice in advance and sorry if i made this confusing.

sorry i should have been more clear, i have 2 mags with +5 extensions and two without, in the first two three guns i around here i never emptied a third mag so i should be good now and have eliminated that 2nd mag change. but thanks for the order of things thats what i was wondering, looks like sights first.

thanks for the links jim, those are the ones i read as i had searched before i even registered. my main question was since im shooting 3 gun which of these upgrades is (in your opinions) the most necessary for competition. thanks again.

Hey all, new to the forum as a member but i have been stalking and reading for months. I recently decided to do three gun and have shot two matches with guns that i had. i bought my first dedicated 3 gun pistol, a glock 17 rtf2. i have about another 125 dollars i can put towards upgrades and i have read just about every glock 17 topic concerning mods on here and just wanted to get some opinions on what to upgrade first. Here is a list of what i want to get eventually magwell (leaning towards jp enterprise aluminum for cost) new sights (dawson maybe, but not decided yet) trigger work, lighter and smoother. (gw/zev tech spring kit and v3 race connector, or vanek challenger or edge) mag release extension (no clue) I obviously cant do all of this for 125 so what do you guys recommend i should use this 125 for first. Also, if you wouldn't mind including the brand or model of what you think i should get first if its different from what im leaning towards, in parenthesis. thanks a ton guys i realy appreciate all the advice everyone puts up on this forum for us newbies
