  1. First, thanks Cliff for the compliments and in-depth debrief, I second your emotion on always being amazed at how well some folks, regardless of age, can shoot.

Second, it has taken a few days to go through the nearly 2000 photos shot by our photographers but I finally culled the list down do a manageable number. Then, each of those got a little Photoshop treatment and finally, they were put into a Web gallery which can be viewed via the link below.

Pirates of Texas Carbine Championship Photos

The American Trigger Sports Network folks have already posted our match on their website and they took quite a few photos themselves. Those images and captions can be seen in the "Pirates of Texas" section on their site's main page, <click here>. (Scroll down until you see the "Pirates" header.) We will also put a post here when we learn the date that the ATSN film footage of the match will be available on The Pursuit Channel (DirecTV Channel 608).

We hope everyone enjoys the photos and although we always try to get shots of as many folks as we can, it's impossible to get everyone in front of the lens so if we missed getting one of you, please accept our apologies.

Great photos just a reminder how much fun it was

  2. Some more info on sign up no cut off date and we will take walkins. Also some more news we had the Pirates of Texas Carbine match Feb 19th. and America Trigger Sports Network filmed that event. And they talked to us about come to the Texas State Steel Challenge Championship and filming it. Looks like it might happen. More info as we know it. Come on down and be a TV star blasting the steel.

  3. Three of us will come down from San Antonio What time do we need to arive to get signed up ?

More good news, thanks! The times are on the main page of the match website, sign-up starts at 0800. Thanks for the heads up, we'll do our best to get you a meal but can't guarantee a match booklet, we only had so many extra printed and it will be first come, first served on those.

    Seeya Sunday..

I'm one of the "three" riding with Alamoshooter. We're getting a flood up in Belton (near Temple) right now - hope things are drier down south. Looking forward to the match!

Who else out there is going??

We got some rain yesterday afternoon but not much over night maybe 1/2" TV radar this morning is showing it clearing out looks like all is well in Corpus Christi let go shoot.

  4. Can you define "Open Squadding" for those not familiar with the format?

    Thanks,

    -Chet

Open Squadding means, you will be handed your sign up pack with score sheets then you head to any stage you want. If bay one has a line you can go to bay two and shoot or bay three. on and on. You can shoot at your own pace or blow through and shoot all 8 as quick as you want. Or shoot a couple and take a break. There will be ro's at every bay waiting for you to come shoot. It makes for a fun day and you are not rushed. Hope this clears it up for you.

  5. What is the weather looking like for this weekend in Corpus Christi??

AT this point it's looking very nice here are some local weather links lets hope there right.

Hope this helps and hope to see you Sunday

  6. So, if someone signs up for three divisions (which is encouraged in the application form), will the competitor shoot all three on Sunday?

And will that be all eight stages in one division and then all eight in your second division and then all eight in your third?

I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of how this is possible...

    -Chet

Talked to the MD. last night and if you are going to shoot three guns you will most likely need to shoot at least one gun on sat. As far as the application encouraging more than one gun not at all. Shoot what ever you want. 1,2,3 ect. Just a place to sign up to shoot more than one gun if you want. Cut off for sign up is March 5 so we should have a good idea of how many guns will be signed up 2 weeks before the match and we can plan as needed. We are planning on trying to have all local shooters shoot the match on sat. leaving sunday to get all out of town shooters done as early sunday as possable. We want happy shooter and everybody ready to come back next year.
