Thanks Nealio. I left out the rested part on my groupings but Its not really a savings if its lower quality.

I have a witness Match and am looking at a conversion kit. The adjustable sigths aren't much of a concern to me, but am trying to make an informed decision on whether or not to save the money by just getting a regular 4.5 conversion over the more expensive Match conversion. I am a 3" at 25yd shooter so an 1'' one way or other might never be noticed by me at least. Any experience or info would be greatly appreciated Thanks Shawnba67 Used regulars come up occasionally usually round $300+or- with extra mags vs new match with only one mag.

- I'm a little late to the party but the EAA site lists these barrels as of now for $185 now whether the actually have them??? Ive had the same idea for awhile now.

I am thinkin on getting my shooting buddy some electronic hearing protectors for christmas, he has stated he hates the ear muff style because they make his ears sweat(also he admits never having tried good ones).Any advise real world reveiws or comparisons would be greatly appreciated. Am quite interested in opinions on muff style for myself also. Please throw out any info youve got. Thanks Shawn B.

Thanks will look into that. Are the polymer ones the ones listed as plastic on the EAA site?

Does anyone know the grip width of the Czechmate pistol? Fellow at steel challenge had one and i liked the feel of it alot trying to figure out how much thinner my tanfo needs to be to be as close as possible to the cz. Had flat aluminum with grip tape grips om it. Thanks for any info. (my witness match with rubber grips measured 1.400 inch wide.)

got out calipers my match with factory rubber grips measured 1.400 wide. depth was way harder to measure accurately something like 2.250 from behind trigger to shallow part under beaver tail. 2.250 tapering to 2.230 if tried to keep measurement parralel to bore. (this measurement has a huge margin for human error. Anyone measure hennings grips or have access to a compitition cz for quickie measurement? thanks again (czech mate i held had flat sides with built in grip tape spots was told was factory)

oh is large frame match pistol.

Went to a super steel shoot today and took my beloved match. Got to oogling a fellow shooters czech mate, he was kind enough to let me handle it some. I really like they feel it had in my hand, visually colud tell was a little slimmer on the width. Does anyone know the dimensions of each or have experience with both. would like my match to feel more like the czech mate if i could? Man i wish i had left my calipers in the range bag could have gotten some good numbers on both. Thanks fellas

Sorry have been away. thanks for the advice it does seem to only be the factory mag with orange follower. Is there a set width on the feed lips i could check with some dial calipers maybe? Thanks in advance for the great help.

I have an Witness Match 9mm that has recently started locking back with one round left in the mag. I have one factory mag with the orange follower in it, and two from midway with black followers. I can only say for sure that it happens with the orange follower one. But only paid attn once. Any ideas where to start looking for the problem. I have put a new spring in the mag in quest. Think it may have been the wolff extra power spring.

Thanks for input fellas. A glock is not out of question, just comparing numbers on making the pistol i already have work or start with a new one.( I was thinking the 80 gr barnes at 2100fps for coyotes should go well past shotgun range and stay impressive)

does anyone know where i might be able to find parts to convert a 10mm or a 9x19 to the 9x25. Thinking it may make carrying a rifle for hunting unneccesary. Is a Tanfo Match pistol.

Great advice Nealio. I will check and clean this weekend, I did have the old firing pin handy and thinking I'm tracking what you mean by "fatter" part. There is an impact burr on the pin, coincides with the small machined catch on the blocker piece. This is a fairly poor design isn't it the pin now has a nice little ramp instead of a shoulder for blocker to grab. Is this curable? Or should I start practicing cocking on the draw instead of switching safety off(on draw)? Also thought i saw somewhere that I could just install regular witness DA trigger and be DA, is this true? If so how would it rate feel wise to my match trigger SA mode vs SA mode. Thanks for any info Shawnba67

thanks for all the great info fellas( is a completely factory gun except for firing pin less than 1k round count). And i agree i accidentally posted this in revolver anyone know how to move it to tanfoglio forum?

I recnetly picked up some on sale pmc luger ammo. experienced about 2 light strikes a box, all went of on second try. I currently don't compete but use as carry pistol when concealment is not an issue( woods walks, dog running, keep it bedside ect). I bought a henning long firing pin which seems to solve the light strike problem but am very concerned about the loss of firing pin block. Are there any other recomendations? Hammer spring? I understand not carring pmc would be the easiest but it was on super sale and i got 1k of them plus if it'll do it withpmc then it might on my other ammo sometime . looking for the absolute reliablity fix. All info and opinion's are appreciated.

I had the same trouble just this weekend, bought new pin for light strike problem on hard primer pmc ammo. Seemed to cure this problem, but created one as well. The firing pin block is an additional safety item to prevent accidental discharge if some how the hammer( or something else) was forced into the firing pin. It should not affect the reliability at all, but raises some definate concern on safely carring the gun "cocked and locked" (safety on,hammer cocked semi common practice on single action defensive pistols).

thanks mrfreeze. had kindof thought that was gonna be the answer. But was hoping there was a magic answer i couldnt find on my own.

I was led to believe that conversions were available and complete. In corrospondence with eaa was told could use regular witness upper on the match if wanted to. prices 245 for witness steel and 350 for match. Are there lots of people having to have them smith fitted? Was interested in If anyone has found good sight options for a dual purpose upper, carry and sport?

Am new to this but have been impressed with the quality of info found on here and friendly people so here is my question, I Recently picked up a match 9mm. Am looking to get a conversion to 10mm for carry and occasional hunting, having trouble finding night sights that wont severely inhibit the potential of a match upper. Am considering just a cheaper steel upper for this carry option. Anyone have any experience or ideas? thanks

I aquired an h141 base pad and a grams follower and 11 coil spring kit just today! (Hennings part # h141g11 intended for a K9 mag in 9mm witness match)The first coil of the spring under the follower makes pretty strong contact with the front edge of the mag body(could not push it straight in had to push spring coil toward rear a little), and the follower seems to jam up at the base pad mag body joint??? The jamming is a real bugger to get undone pour out the remaining rounds then fuss and cuss til get it loose. I suppose this could all be in the tuning but did not want to get bendy until i got smart on it. Also some concern on how far the follower sticks up when empty but this may not be an issue just seeing if its normal or not. Did find that the factory follower also did this bind up (and an old Nealio post on rounding the edges but grams follower is completely different than factory so I did not apply it yet) Any help is greatly appreciated. I do have a habit of holding my mouth wrong when i do things, which is probly the case here.
