I believe that the field of view is more important than anthing else. I just got a Leupold CQ-T and started using it. Set at "0" power is like looking thru a standard dot sight. You can damn near see your feet!! At 3x it's just enough for the longer shots.

I've found that the short gas system guns either kick "harder" or possibly "faster". Definately different than the full size gas system. Another disadvantage is the sight radius. While not critical for the short distances, longer is better for the precise shots. I'm sticking with the full size guns.
