Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. This was new 4lb jug that I opened but it had the same manufacturing date as the last 4lb jug - August 2013. This is the first I've chrono'ed the X-Treme plated bullets and was afraid of taking the powder charge over the listed specs. In my limited research of N320 I haven't seen too many folks having problems hitting PF. Been using Bayou 124 prior and had no issue making power factor. 4.0 grains took me around 129 PF at Area 6. Bumped it up to 4.1 for a little more insurance. The Bayou Bullets have a diameter of .356 and the X-Treme measure .354. Perhaps that is a part of the problem? Thanks for all the input!
  2. Hitting considerably lower velocities than expected through 3 separate chronographs. 4.1 grains VV N320 1.14 OAL 124gr X-treme plated making around 121 power factor through a CZ Sp01. Also ran these through some friends guns and still failed to make 125 PF (don't remember exact numbers). Thought that perhaps my RCBS 505 balance beam scale was off so I borrowed a Lock N Load Bench scale. Both scales are showing consistent numbers. The press (Lock N Load) is throwing consistently for single and groups of 10 charges. With shooting the other guns and friends rounds through my gun, I feel the problem is definitely in my rounds. Is is possible I have a slow batch of powder? Any other suggestions?
  3. The issues you are describing sound like the machine in not timed correctly. Call customer support when you are in front of the machine and they should be able to help. The issue with the plastic piece that holds the primer cam wire is probably due to the primer seating ram didn't full retract on one stroke and as the handle was pulled down the primer slide hung up and broke the plastic piece. On mine, I'll have to occasionally loosen the primer ram assembly from the bottom side to get the ram to release. Apparently they have a new break away wire that I haven't used yet. The LNL likes to be clean. I keep a can of compressed air near by and give the priming area and 1st station of the shell plate a quick blast each time I add another tube of primers. That seems to help keep everything running smoothly.
  4. Stopped by REI in Atlanta today and they had the Contour Roam2 cameras on clearance for $100. They also have a deal through around the end of the month if you spend a total of $100 you get a $20 gift card that's good for a future purchase in May. Not sure if the camera is available in other stores but if your in the market it may be worth checking out.
  5. The Salomons have turned into my favorite all around shoe. My wife turned me onto Aliexpress.com which is a site that lists different sellers direct from China. The Speedcross 3's are very popular on the site and can be ordered for around $40 shipped. Takes longer to receive, but IIRC it was about 2-3 weeks until I received them. I went over the pair I received direct from China with a fine tooth comb and could not tell any difference from the ones I paid $125 for. All the packaging and tags appear to be legitimate and I have been wearing that pair for months now with no complaints. If you order from the site, make sure you order from a seller with a good reputation and read all the fine print regarding shipping times, etc.
  6. Cajun Gun Works is great to deal with. I had no hesitation that they would correct the issue (even if it happened to be my fault) and my intention on posting here was to get help get an idea of what may have caused the problem to surface. Not looking to badmouth CGW at all as I feel they offer truly top notch products and have recommended them to many fellow shooters.
  7. I indicated on the picture the other areas where peening is happening.
  8. There is peening on the block as well. Just looks like the firing pin is substantially worse. The picture above may not show it that well, but on the top left side of the firing pin on the outside edge, there is some peening happening as well. Also, there is a slight amount of peening where the retaining pin (Cajun part) is contacting the FP. Any insight how to test if the lifter is moving the full range of motion?
  9. The lifter arm does appear to be working correctly or at least it moves when I pull the trigger. Wish I could say that I've been dry firing the gun a lot, but I really have been really slack about dry firing. I have dry fired, just not that much. The gun has only been setup for about 2 months.
  10. My relatively new SP01 started having an issue where the firing pin wouldn't contact the primers. No strikes at all and had ran flawless up until then. Looks like the firing pin block is not fully lifting out of the way and has subsequently marred the firing pin. The gun is setup with a bunch of Cajun Gun Works parts including: Perfection firing pin (shown in the picture) and retaining pin. Lightened firing pin block spring Short reset kit and disconnector Adjustable sear with CZ Custom Comp Hammer Other springs and pins The trigger bar and FPB have been polished pretty well. Any insight what is causing this or steps needed to correct? Here is a picture of the firing pin damage. Thanks.
  11. Thanks for all the input guys. I've included the recommended parts in my shopping list.
  12. Happened to score an all day Saturday slot today. Paid and really looking forward to this match.
  13. I believe the CGW Short Reset System includes both the extended firing pin and the 13# hammer spring but I will double check. Thanks.
  14. Getting a stock Sp-01 ready for USPSA Production. Being new to CZ's, I'm getting a little lost in the different models and configurations.
