Went to the range with the Dawson's set and you're right. Impact was 3" low at 15yards with my production load.

I have heard good things about the CGW set. It's what I will buy of the new shorter sight doesn't work out.

Oh no. I literally just installed the recommended Dawson sights last night. Gotta go shoot it still but as you mentioned they have the "Perfect Impact" policy thing where they'll send you a new front sight if it's not zero'd. But you have to buy the recommended front or the sight set. If you buy a different front and you're wrong then I assume that means they don't have to honor the policy.
Gotta say I do like the look of the rear sight on the gun (doesn't hang over the back much) and I like the sight picture with the .135" notch, .100" front. Just looks "right" to me.

Oh no! Just got my SP-01 and the photobucket pics are all messed up. Stupid photobucket looks to have changed something.
Does anyone have a... copy or something of the pics in this thread? I read through this thread before I got my gun but now need to figure out how to clean up the trigger.

I've been using the same Vibraprime for the last 15 years. Can't imagine spending so much for the RF100 or PAL. I like taking a break, going inside and loading up 10 primer tubes while sitting on the couch or in front of the computer. The kids used to do it when they were younger too.
I don't think I ever get flipped primers since I watch them go down, but even if I did, how many would it take to make up the cost difference?

Right now the Deltapoint is my favorite optic... but I'm constantly looking for the next best new thing. Any one have both and can compare them? Thanks.

I'm a 36 waist and have both 38 and 40 CR speed belts. The 40 overlaps so much that when I run production and have mag pouches going to my back it can get in the way. Not sure what smaller waist-ed people do. With the velcro keeper thingy I bet you really only need a couple inches of overlap.

Also check to see if your ejector rod hasn't unscrewed and backed out so it's contacting the barrel underlug cutout place where it goes. Obviously I'm not a revolver expert... just happened to see this happen to someone (Itchy)... at IRC... at the end of the long field course.

In my 627 in 38 super I use 3.3gr of N320 and a Berry's 158gr .357 with an extremely heavy crimp to get to 125 pf. OAL is the standard 1.23". I have to crimp it heavy or else the bullets start walking on me. No idea on major since I only shoot ICORE. Oh, and it's an open gun so I have some holes drilled in the barrel. Burns very clean for me.

I have the Konus Konuspot-80 (20-60x80mm) also and it is excellent. I got mine a few years ago and at that time it was the best thing until you get to the Kowa for ~$800 if you want something appreciably better. I haven't been spotting scope shopping since then but I don't know if there's anything better for under $400.

The factory Ruger 10 round rotary mag seems to be the consensus for the most dependable 10/22 mag. Obviously you're limited to 10 rounds. I like the clear ones so you can see how many you have in there.

Had that happen to me at an indoor range a long time ago. A case took a bad bounce off the wall and dropped right between my glasses and my eye and left the exact same burn mark. I always wear hats while shooting now.

I wear Sordins and have always have them on. My muffs attenuate and don't cut off so I can hear the difference between a regular shot and a squid and I've never responded to the wrong timer. The only negative for me are the stunned gasps from the crowd when I screw something up, but most of the time you already knew it. However, earlier this year I heard the crowd gasp thinking I screwed something up (when I was behind a wall) that I didn't but I started laughing because of it. At least I got a laugh out of it.

Interesting. The website has 3 CR Speed belts. The Hi-Torque, Super Hi-Torque, and Super Hi-Torque Deluxe. I think the only difference between the new Super and Super Deluxe are the stripes on the front.
Anyone know if any of anyone with the new Super belt in the US? I'd rather pay a US distributor and not risk the potential hassles of shipping all the way from South Africa.

Out of a G17C with a G17 barrel I use 147gr Zero FMJs with 3.4gr of Titegroup. I haven't gotten a bad bullet bounce yet, so I'm still saving the couple bucks per thou on the FMJs.
I do like the idea of only using 125gr JHPs (for 9mm major) but I really like the softer recoil of the 147s.

Midway USA sells the Marvel conversion units and right now they have the unit 1 with adj. sights in stock (the weaver rail one is backordered). I'm not sure why people buy them directly from Marvel and wait, unless they don't know this.
That's where I bought my unit 1 with the rail and mine functions flawlessly, even with all 4 of my metalform colt ace mags. I did break the edge around the chamber very slightly and polished the feed ramp. The trick with all .22's is to test a lot of .22 ammo to find out what functions as close to 100% with your gun and/or is the most accurate. I don't know why, but every .22 (even the same model) likes different ammo. In my Marvel, I've found that Federal American Eagle AE22 works 100% though it's dirty. Most people start with CCI Minimags as they are known to usually be the most reliable but in mine they jam once in a blue moon while the American Eagle doesn't.
PS. I love my marvel. I have it on a dedicated (cheap) Charles Daly frame and it works great.

Thanks. I've give those a try. I guess I have big ears so the 30% more interior room sounds like what I need. That's about the only complaint I have about the Sordins... not enough room for my Dumbo sized ears. With a bit more room, I could then double plug more often, which is a bit uncomfortable for me right now.
I actually just bought some Sordin specific gel ear pads a couple weeks ago from Tacticalcommand.com (where I bought my Sordins a couple years ago). They have an awful website, so i just called to order, but here they are: www.tacticalcommand.com.
They feel really good, and are a bit deeper than the ones that come with the Sordins, but I could still use a bit more room, so I'll try those David Clark ones.

Who makes those grips? They look sweet, nice overall looking pistola ya got there.
They are Hogue Big Butt grips. Pat put a cool basketweave checkering on them for me.

your sight is the one on the right. once the pin is out, the you should be able to tap it either direction.

Heh, 2 conflicting answers. One saying to push forward and one to push backwards.
I'm 99.9% sure that this sight isn't spring loaded. I've done searches and I think the ones that are spring loaded, have a hole in the front, which this one does not have.
8shooter, you clearly have the same gun, but I don't see any way to push the sight straight out forwards. Any chance there's an exploded view of the gun/front sight area out there anywhere?

So it dawned on my the other day, that since I had my barrel ported on my open revo, I clearly don't need my front sight any more (at the time the front sight was cutting into my skin while I was wrestling with my gun to take off my grip).
So is there a trick to it? I punched the pin out, and I've already made the sight look... unsightly, but I just can't figure out how to get it out. I haven't completely destroyed the sight yet, but I suppose I might as well at this point. I have the 627 in 38 super if that matters.

recently one was on the USPSA board with a trigger job and extra moonclips for $1400
That 627 was on the USPSA board for $1300 (it was new) and it also came with 10 moonclip holders and a JPoint mount in addition to the 20 moonclips (not Hearthcos) and trigger job (by Bob Miles). Oh, and 8 38super snap caps
If you figure $10 each for the moonclip holders ($100), $3 per moonclips ($60) and $30 for the mount, you're down to about $1,110 for the new gun with a trigger job. That's pretty much inline with the few that I've seen sell recently, considering this one is new, without the trigger job.
I clip it to my belt and it doesn't get in the way while still recording everything. It has all the functions I'm ever going to use and more.

I went from a 550, then added a 650, then added a 1050. After the 1050 I couldn't stand loading on the 550 & 650 so I sold them and bought conversions for the 1050 to do everything.
