I have a hard time spending $99 on a trigger system that once installed will still result in over 3lb pull. I have read many reviews of the PELT and while it is a nice system compared to the APEX trigger alone, no one has seen sub 3lb pull with just the install of the PELT alone.

109 bucks with shipping for a two pound reduction.

The trigger does NOT change the feel or characteristics at all.

The SPRING by itself took 1.3 pounds off of my trigger pull.  I would have been happy paying 10 dollars for a damn spring by itself versus 109 for the trigger shoe...

The Practical Enhanced Leverage Trigger drop-in kit has a retail price of $99 and is available online. The package offers full compatibility within the P320 system in all calibers and sizes.

Yeah...after taking a file to it to adjust the trigger stop pad...

The trigger is not worth 100 dollars.  If grey guns can get this trigger approved for production by greasing the right palms then Apex needs to do the same and get their 50 dollar triggers approved.

50 dollars for a drop in trigger im OK with.  One hundred dollars for no change in trigger feel but a reduction in weight of two pounds is a bit ridiculous.

I understand economy of scale and I get that the 320 is not as popular as the Glock but there are a metric boat ton of Glock trigger kits that can be had for 150-250 dollars that VASTLY improve every aspect of the trigger.  I dont understand why the market is so slow to catch up and release an actual trigger KIT for the platform that fundamentally changes the characteristics for the better.

Being forced to send your gun off for a 350+ dollar trigger kit install is a little absurd as well unless there is an engineering reason as to why a drop in trigger kit cannot be offered.  I would love to be enlightened.

  3. Nope,

No one has responded to me.  Well, that's not entirely the case.  Bruce responded to me twice on Facebook to assure me that he would get me taken care of and I still have yet to hear about anything.  I attempted to call last Friday with no success as the phones were apparently off the hook...

  4. So...

I called on the 31st and spoke with Tyrell and explained my issue.  He asked me to send a video but he would talk to the other gunsmiths and give me a call back on the 1st.  I never heard from him.  I sent the video and placed a call on the 2nd and still havent heard anything.

Bruce sent me a facebook message on the 4th asking how he could help and then never responded.

I know that Bruce has some health issues and as I told him in the Facebook message I would sit tight and that his health was more important than a stupid trigger but hes not the only one that works at Gray Guns...

Has anyone else had a less than stellar experience with Gray Guns customer service?

  5. I got mine in yesterday and finally got to install it today.

The pistol fails to reset with every combination of new and old parts I could try.  Awesome...99 bucks for a small piece of metal plus nine dollars for first class snail mail and it doesnt even work due to tolerance issues...

The trigger bar is failing to drop off of the sear unless i mush the trigger to the rear.  Its almost like there's not enough over travel in the system.  To say im frustrating is an understatement.

Also, a few other observations from when the pistol DID actually reset/cock itself a few times.  I can feel the lighter trigger but the pre travel is very gritty.  I feel like the portion of the trigger shoe where it connects to the chassis probably should get some polishing.  I can definitely feel the lighter weight.

The trigger profile is interesting.  I have the "Curved" trigger and the face is pretty flat.  I think its HILARIOUS that this is production legal as it does NOT clone the factory profile.  Political shenanigans at work...

All in all, this whole experience of waiting for so long and then being disappointed has left a sour taste in my mouth.  Ive bought a variety of parts from CGW, Apex, Zev, DK, Vanek, Glocktriggers, etc etc and ive never felt like I wasted my money.

That's probably the only legit beef with the gun along with the function and location of the manual safety.  Both of these issues could have been remedied with the M9A3.

I heard many years ago in a video released by Beretta stating that the M9A3 could be produced for LESS than what they're currently selling the M9 to the military for.

Perhaps that was an overly optimistic assessment? As it stands, the M9A3 retails for over a grand.  Im assuming this is due to demand but the MSRP is still up there.

The 320 retails for a whole heck of a lot less than the M9A3 so perhaps the realities of cost were factored into the decision to go with the 320?

  7. David,

Got any links for dealers taking/offering pre orders?

Also, did anyone ask if the new X frame grips will adapt to the current 320 chassis and slide?  Id love to put one of those grips on my current FS.

  8. How do you determine demand 100% accurately?  You cant.  You produce a run, you sell out and then you produce a second.  Over reaching is a surefire way to go out of business if you have too much product sitting on the shelves and not enough demand.

I ordered one too and in hindsight realized that the flat trigger will probably become production legal to at some point which is disappointing.  I would have preferred a flat trigger.  Ah well, hindsight is 20/20 and its not approved yet...

One thing I dont understand is how that curved trigger is production approved.  It looks NOTHING like the factory trigger bow which has its corners radiused quite generously.  That curved trigger has almost a square face...

Polishing/deburring the internals. Adjust the trigger return spring. Remove one of the 2 sear springs. This should get the weight to where you want it.

Mind giving us some more insight into how to do that?

Got one a few weeks ago.  So far I'm very happy and I'm sure you will be too.  My only issue is as smooth as the trigger is I think its a little heavy.  I haven't put a gauge to it yet but I think its heavier than it feels.  I bought a rig and I'm going to toy around in carry optics this season.  I'm a glock guy for carry guns through and through but I fell like a season of USPSA should give me some confidence in the 320 rx.  You think you'll be sending yours out for an action job?  I'm toying with sending mine to Burke.

The trigger's are REALLY heavy out of the box.  Mine pulls at over seven pounds and the gun has 1k live fire rounds and countless dry fire cycles on it.  It hasnt really lightened up all that much.

Having said that, id take this 7 pound trigger over a factory 5.5lb glock trigger any day of the week and all day on Sunday.

I'm assuming your referring to the grip width I.E. small, medium, large. I believe I remember reading something about removable grip panels with different texturing so maybe you'd be able to swap the included grip panels for larger or smaller ones to give you that just right feel.

From what ive seen in videos and pictures it looks like they took that feature out.  The grip appears to be a one size fits all scheme as it currently stands.

If you are going to use this gun to actually compete with, I would buy something else.  Unless you are willing to wait months and spend over 300 bucks to have the trigger worked on, look elsewhere for a competition gun.  That is if you are serious about competing.   If not, it makes for a fine home defense gun in the full size or a carry gun in the compact sizes.  But don't buy a stock 320 just to compete with.   There are much better choices with much better after market support.

    Uh...

Dont throw the baby out with the bathwater here...

Yeah, the 320 is seriously hampered by the lack of trigger options but its still a VERY, VERY shootable gun even with its stock 7.5 lb trigger.

There are sights, basepads, grip tape and magazine releases which means its pretty much good to go for production.

I really do wish someone would get on the ball and release a damned production legal trigger kit.  Gray gun's releases products slower than old people f*#k.

  13. I do not disagree with you.

However, I like product release announcements that actually coincide with the physical release of the gun.  Unlike say Sig that teases a 320 Target and a year later there's still very little info on it.

Im just impatient though and hate waiting :P

  14. I believe the "thing" in front of the slide lock is potentially a detent of some kind to prevent auto forwarding.

The M&P platform is hamstrung by that horrific hinged trigger.  Does anyone actually like that thing?

I think you underestimate the new breed of carriers who think they need a GLOCK 19 with RMR, suppressor sights, magwell, threaded barrel, ZEV trigger, 21 round mags, and cerakote job for EDC. Some of the guns I've seen people carry boggles my mind.  The 320 FS is a niche gun in itself in my eyes. The compact would be more of a duty gun from what I've seen. Selling a handful of FS and a ton more of the compacts to LEO and civilians. The X5 is meant to be for competitors and those who want an already upgraded version. It's not gonna be $1000. It'll be $875-900 on the .com's and for what you get it's not a bad price.

If you built a FS for competition you're looking at $1200 anyways.

    p320fs-$525

    4 mags-$160

    new sights-$95+install

    extended mag release-$40

    grip job-$100

    1911 guide rod/springs-$45

not including the flat trigger, or bull barrel.

The people who want "duty" guns will always be there and they most likely won't even look twice at something like the X5 or VP9 Tactical

    The price point isn't excessive.

No one ever said the price point was excessive.

Im not sure what your point is with that post.  I still strongly disagree that the release of the target at an earlier date would have killed sales of the FS 320.  Yes, people love expensive, stupid guns ala Salient Tactical.

However, these guns arent sold in the same volume that a regular Glock or duty pistol is.

I think the price point for the 320 Target is fair however, I still think its sales numbers will pale in comparison to a standard 550 dollar duty pistol.  I picked my 320 up for 479.00 plus tax.  A Target would cost me literally double that.  The average consumer is going to choose the standard 320.

90% of the consumer market buys guns in the 300-600 dollar range.  The other 5% buy's expensive tactical toys.  The other 4% buy's competition pistols.  The other 1% buy's anything that they deem desirable, rare and expensive, ie collectors with deep wallets.
