Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Interesting. Eagle 6, Tactical 4.15. Yes I will probably still reload but if I don't feel like reloading then I won't break the bank. Also, I am away at school and don't have my press with me. What do you guys think about doing a Caspian hi cap 9mm build? I think I am leaning STI but Caspian is a close second. The caspian is still in the back of my mind because I like the classic 1911 slide, and building a gun is always fun.
  2. I think this is precisely my sentiment. I have a sore shoulder from reloading too much the last few years, and I am using a progressive press too. .40 seems to make more competitive sense, but I want to have cheap fun, and no one is paying me to compete either. The funnest match I have ever shot was with a Beretta m9 with 20 round mags in limited. I won a few stages and, were it not for a few malfuntions, I would have taken the day in limited. 9mm it is. Now, which model STI? Thanks for the replies, keep them comming.
  3. I have always found I shoot better with fixed sights because it lets the gun shoot me rather than me shooting the gun. I find when I have adjustable sights I am always adjusting them for the wrong reasons (I am flinching). "oh gees, the sights are off, I better adjust them," when the real problem is I am flinching, or my muscles haven't yet adjusted to a different grip angle if I have just switched from another model. Fixed sights make you focus on adjusting to the particular gun. I think that is one of the problems with die hard 1911 shooters, they get so locked into one setup that they think all other pistols are set up wrong, or the sigths are off when the real problem is their muscle memory hasn't had time to adjust. Solid fundamentals will fix this however.
  4. Howdy, Oh, and I am well aware of the PF argument (get one in .40 instead). FYI, I consider myself a seasoned USPSA shooter. All replies are wanted. Thank you.
  5. Which means that you will need to have a race pistol and shotgun in order to stick with the competition. I think much more prevalent would be a slightly less battle rifle optic with mini red dot on open rifles. Thats it? Is the system really that much more of an advantage over a variable optic (1-4x)? Is the Acog (or rifle scope) with red dot piggy back the ultimate optic setup? I thought the setup wasn't prevalent because there was some flaw I couldn't see.
  6. How prevalent are these for 3-gun rifles? They make alot of sense to me but I don't seem to see alot of them being used out there. Whats the scoop? Thanks
