  1. i shoot the sp01 shadow in both games, if i could start over i would get the short frame shadow so that i wasnt VERY limited in grip selection and magazines. The way i see it now the nonsp01 shadow is still a heavy beast of a gun by any standard, and that with the low bore axis keeps it shooting flat. The knob of steel on the end of the sp01 certainly improves it as a melee weapon tho

  2. I got a reply back this afternoon from Mr. Amidon:

Yes it is, the ruling states that aftermarket parts for external are OK if listed in Appendix D, any other part must be OEM and offered on an approved model or in their catalog.

Subject: Thin Safety from CZ-USA legal?

Is the thin safety offered by CZ-USA legal on a CZ Shadow for Production since it's in the manufacturers catalog?

    http://shop.cz-usa.c...Safety-Set.aspx

I'm a little confused by Appendix D and 8/19/08 NROI ruling.

Excellent! I think an SA trigger is maybe making it on to my CZ!

but then of course a differant rule would put you out of production class :(

  3. hey guys, lately i have been dryfiring small mock up stages in my garage. I have been double action pulling all of my shots just like a revolver, because...well because i can i guess. Question is, do you think this will develop me wrong seeing as when i shoot the gun for real only the first shot is DA, and the rest is amazing SA. It is a custom shop gun, both pulls lightened and smoothed.

  4. 3M Safety tread tape. Home Depot or Lowes.

I had to file it down some so my hand wouldnt bleed though.. :surprise::roflol:

I think that's the stuff I was talking about, for use on stairs and such.

I can definitely see having to smooth it out some!

no way the sharper the better, i use that same home depot skid tape, its like crushed glass i love it. hoppes gumms it up fast so you have to clean more carefully.

  5. Try different dies like others have said. I checked out a friend's press for similar issues- although I can't recall which position. After close inspection I noticed the die bushing hole in that specific position was NOT lined up with the case when it was indexed properly. This was very noticeable. Hornady replaced the press and all was good after. Please- check all other possibilities first- I'm sure this is not a common problem as I know many others that use the LNL without issue.

I'm ordering new dies tonight, hoping differant tolerances will solve the issue. With no retaining spring or die in the station and i run it up it does apear to be off center by just bit. just that station.

Dave you ready for this weekend? My shoulders are killin from digging post holes for walls, we got real walls im even gonna paint them ;) -craig

  6. right now with the Lee dies (same set i used to use on a turret press) im noticing how sloppy the bullet seating is. I'm tring to get 1.095 oal with a 124mg jhp (has to be that short for the CZ chamber) and it has been swiging over .01 variation. 1.102 thru 1.088. the plug at the top of the seater actully wiggles, its only got a rubber o-ring to help with the huge sloppy threads, and soft aluminum to boot.

  7. Hey guys, any idea what could be causing my cases to be coming up crooked enough to get caught on the mouth of the Size/decap die? I have checked and it is not an indexing issue, and also the bench/press is level. About every other case bites in and needs to be tilted (towards the center of the shell plate) before I can run it up in. Its super annoying, I want to reserve sending the press in as a last option. The have sent me new bushing receivers in case that was holding my die crooked but no luck. I am willing to by some upgraded dies to replace the Lee’s but I’m not sure that will help as tighter tolerances could cause more bite. Should the case be able to wiggle a decent bit when it’s loaded into the plate with the spring retaining? Hope someone else has seen this before.

  8. I have an SPO1 shadow and use it in idpa ssp and uspsa production. I had Angus do a competition trigger job on it.

It takes some work to get it under the 39oz rule in ssp. My shadow weighs 38.9oz with plastic grips, smaller safeties, old style mag brake, plastic guide rod, and 10 round mags.

The easier option is the 75 Shadow. Weighs less due to the short dustcover. Starting seeing quite a few of them in both sports recently.

do you know what the smaller safeties saved you? im tring to make weight just about the same way but fear I may have a heavy frame
