Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Now this is what I'm talking about! Join a gun forum to find motorcycle Pics :lol Here's my baby, 2007 R6s, put on 26k since I got her.
  2. Hi Everyone. Name is Charles and a gentleman that I met at Scheels by the name of Chris suggested I join this site. Sorry if this intro is a long one just figured I'd share my back round and why I am on here! I am new to the world of gun ownership and am having an absolute field day learning everything that I can. Growing up in the liberal region made it very hard to get exposed to guns, bows, even bb guns. So please forgive my ignorance, I'm on here to learn and that's what counts right? I first started shooting a .22 ruger pistol about 4 years ago but it wasn't until someone broke into my house 3 weeks ago (while I was home) that I ever thought of owning a hand gun for personal protection. I currently am planning on making my first hand gun purchase next week, either the M&P .40 or the XDm .40. I've Spent quite a bit of time at the range firing both (approximately 500 rounds per gun in 2 weeks and have narrowed it down to these two after shooting: Glock Gen 3, Glock Gen 4, XD, Sig, H&K, Taurus, Ruger, and Bereta. (Each gun got an initial 2 clip trial if it felt comfortable in my hand) Im pretty sure Im going to go with the M&P. Not a fan of the take down but I love the trigger and more importantly the grip just feels like an extension of my hand. The XDm not so much on the comfort though my grouping is always tighter than some of my buddies that have been shooting for years. I really feel that if this is something that I intend to use for self protection my butt better be at the gun range a minimum twice a month (more if I can financially afford it). I came on here so that hopefully I might be able to meet some local shooters and possibly get some advice and suggestions from professionals and experienced gun owners.
