Im a sleep walker. One time in middle school I actually swam about 30 yards into a lake wearing sweats before i snapped out of it. The bedside gun makes me nervous. I keep it holstered in a drawer across the room so my motor memory doesn't get the better of me.

Interesting. I have used snap caps in the past and was really beating myself up over "driving the gun forward". Always assumed it was a problem. I think my problem is deinitely trigger control. I'm pretty smooth until right before the break where I tend to yank.

I'm a fairly new shooter and I'm trying to build solid fundamentals. I shoot a production Glock 17 in IDPA and a little USPSA along with pins at my local range. Lately my shooting has deteriorated despite regular dry fire practice and I'm hitting a couple of inches low and left on half or more of my shots. Talk about frustrating. I'm planning on putting some groups from a rest to work the trigger but I feel a lack of direction in my practice and development. Any ideas?

Howdy do... Just signed up for this forum. Great stuff here!
I'm 31 and I've been shooting handguns for about a year.
Caught the bug from a friend who is a great shooter and teacher.
I'm classified as Marksman in IDPA, not yet classified in USPSA and only joined GSSF for the pistol discount:)
After going through a bunch of different pistols, (CZ, XD, S&W) I've settled on shooting a stock G17 (sevigny fiber sights) gen4.
I absolutely love shooting and wish I'd gotten started much sooner.
In my other life, I'm a professional violinist. Symphonies & stuff. Looking forward to learning lots here!
