  1. Something Definately is wrong with it. Mine is very easy in and out of the holster. Is yours a std dust cover gun?

Yup. Normal STI Frame built by Freedom Gun Works. And it is a actual STI Frame not one of the new ones that FGW is coming out with.

You can see in the holster where its getting gouged by the dust cover.

  2. Never had a problem with my gcode I use for 3 gun. What's the issue that it can't be safely drawn as mine draws fine

The mold they have must be too thin or something. Its way too tight on the dust cover....which just happen to be where the rivets are located on the holster. You have to sit there...grip the holster with one hand and the gun with the other and muscle it out. And forget about using the locking mechanism if the gun isn't locked and cocked.

The only work around I can even see on it is to heat up the holster to try and remold it...but they said to specifically not do that :/

  3. Anyone got recommendations on who makes a good holster with "adjustable" retention(or not retard tight retention)? I got my g-code holster yesterday....and the 2011 can not be safely drawn from it. Their recommendation was to carefully pry it apart a little after taking out the retention screw....which didn't work for shit.

The bad side to this is I need it for a match in a week and a half.

  4. Hey guys, does anyone know what the best after market slides are for a G34(3rd Gen)? Basically I need something that I can mount a RMR on, and a nice clean look with a brake hanging off the front, but no modifications to the OEM slide or frame so I can still swap it back to that for normal matches. Basically...more and more Precision matches are including pistol now, and I need to rail those targets as quickly as possibly...hence Red Dot and Brake.

  5. Gotcha. Which book is that?

And my new barrel bushing that I can screw with will be here tomorrow. Was playing with the barrel and I think its a binding issue on the bushing at this point, but either way I think the barrel is trashed. Or at least I wouldn't trust it to be fired at this point. It was just way oversized.

  6. So here's what I'm going to attempt:

Ordered a Ed Brown drop in bushing to play with the Nighthawk barrel.

Ordered a CHEAP swanson drop in barrel to play with.

Finally found a couple of reviews on the Nighthawk..evidently when they say "oversized" they mean jumbo sized in every shape way or form. Figure I can play with the swanson a little to make sure I truly understand wtf I'm doing before I screw up the nighthawk barrel anymore than I have.

  7. Well do some searching and also download the Schuemann timing instructions for a more complete understanding of what is required for fitting. But when in doubt defiantly stop and let a Smith finish the fitting. You don't want to roast either part.

Actually I did talk to my smith about it briefly today. And he's largly said what you guys have asked me. I really don't care about toasting my first attempt at fitting a barrel if I'm learning from it, what I think I'm going to do is order a new bushing to try fitting first before I set out to mimic the nighthawk barrels dimensions to the colts.

This is practice anyway for the STI Frame I plan to build into a 45acp. Now if Kart would ever get around to sending me that easy fit barrel for the project.......

  8. No remove the material from the frame bed. And maybe just a little from just under the chamber where the barrel makes contact on the frame bed. Ink it up put it together without the guide and spring but with the bushing and pop the muzzle lightly with a rubber/safe end mallet and then look at where it is making contact. Remove from frame first and more than than the barrel. Do it slow and a little at a time until it unlocks and the VIS is making correct contact.

Post a pic of the back of the lugs where the step is.

I'll get the pic in a bit. I don't think I'm gonna remove any material from the frame, the smith who built the pistol might not be happy when we gets it back for a check up in the future :)

And I'd only rather have to chuck a 250 dollar barrel vs messing up a old series 70 colt.
