I'm hearing allot about this gun,wondering about it's reliability and durability.Is this gun something I can count on and take to some of the more demanding matches? I know Gerry does but I'm not sure this gun has exactly the same internals and I don't have a staff from the manufacturer to maintain my guns.Has anyone rung up a large enough round count under demanding conditions to feel comfortable hopping on a plane and taking this gun half way across country to a major match. Just wondering, I know it's great for the money but is it a great gun, it's worthless if it doesn't hold up when your in the middle of a stage. I guess I'm wondering how Mossberg can sell it for that price and not cut somewhere. I hope it's as good as its hype I would like to pick one up.

Do any of you use one of these in 3gun and does it handle light target loads or is it designed to operate with heavier 3.5in. turkey loads? It looks to be an excellent platform to build a 3gun from.

I know Remington doesn't recommend it but I have an 1100 21" slug barrel that looks the same as the 1187 and fits in my 1187, what is the problem with shooting it? Sorry if its been discussed before but I haven't seen it and I just acquired this barrel recently.
