At the Pro/Am I missed more shotgun targets than I should have. The RO pointed out to me that every one of my misses were over the top of my target. I figured I need to aim a little low or bury the front sight the the channel (FN).
When I got home I ordered a full set of stock shims for the Browning Gold, which I have read will work on the FN SLP. My question now is, which way does the stock need to go? Do I need to raise the comb height or lower it? I have never messed with a fitting a shotgun stock before so I am a little/lot lost.

I am rather partial to the Carbon Feather handguard. It is very light and very durable.
Unless you are going to get JP to Thermo-fit a barrel for you, the Firdbird nut offers the best accuracy available. The Carbon Feather is a simple direct bolt to the Firebird nut.
How does the Firebird nut aid accuracy?

Anyone know where I can find a tube extension for my SLP Mk II. I would like to get another shell or two capacity for some of the outlaw matches.

I'm curious about this as well. My biggest fear is increased/premature throat errosion from having a 22LR case jammed in there. It doesnt reall save me money if the 22kit drasticly shortens my barrel life.

I like plain old foam plugs. The rubber/plastic flanged plugs hurt my ears after a while. I've tried a couple kinds of muffs but they all had problems. I couldnt get a good cheapweld with long guns, my glasses would not let them seal properly and they trapped sweat when it was 100degrees outside, like it is for most of my shooting seasion.

I didn't know they made a long one. The one I have must be set up for an 18" barrel. Anyone have a link to the longer scabbard and/or pics of their rig?

You really don't need QD but that's what I use in CSS I want to quickly swap my scope over to another rifle when mine blows up.

16"= carbine length gas system
18"= rifle length gas system
Do you mean that's the way they come, or that's your preference?
Lots of folks have talked about the benefits of mid length gas on a 16 inch barrel -- though I haven't shot one myself, I was lead to believe that if you ARE using a 16 inch barrel for 3 gun (which should be fine with optics -- MAYBE a disadvantage with irons) then midlength gas is what you want, no?
I think that it is very well known that the 14.5" barrel is best suited for a carbine gas system and the 16" is best suited for a middy gas. From there it's obviously a rifle gas system. A 16" middy will have a softer recoil impulse than a carbine system and an adjustable gas system on a rifle length upper is the bomb. I think I know the differences since I own all of the different combos (and then some
) Carbine gas systems were first designed for the the Colt Commando 10.5" guns, which predate the M-4 with its 14.5" barrel. When the military desided they wanted something between the 20" A2 and the Commando it was easier for Colt to adapt the existing gas system onto the new barrels then do the R&D for something new. Just because it was easier didn't mean it was best though. What resulted was a carbine that has been over-gased pretty much since it's inception. This is a big reason why the Army has been through half a dozen iterations of extractor setups on the M-4.

I prefer mine horizontally mounted on the back of my belt. I couldn't find what I wanted so I made my own.

If you are looking for a budget rifle to get started, you can score a CMMG for around 800$ and then go from there... If you are looking to build yours, this is the build list that I used and was able to get the entire rifle for under 1300.

You could have come in under 1k had you gone with someone other than Loki for the recievers and LPK. Palmetto State Armory has the best deal going on recievers and LPKs as far as I know. Also the 3G1 barrel is available online for around $170, which could save a good bit of money.

I found it hard to weak hand reload with the saddle on the reciever, so I moved it to the forearm. I'm right handed so I put it on the RT side of the forearm. If you really want picks I will add them latter.

Thats the only M&P I've seen with audible reset. I think the lack of a defined reset is the thing I hate most about my M&P. Even after a $130 trigger job I still cant feel the reset.

I kinda ruled out that option when I got the Swarovski z6i. I can't pay that much twice. If I was shooting a Tac30 I would have three.

Thats the problem. Mine did it too. The forks act as the feed ramp and when you weld it you lose that. I had to dremel a channel into mine to act as a feed ramp. A little trial and error and now its fixed. I've heard of others with the same issue
