I still don't understand what you guys mean by floating thumbs, do your thumbs touch when your gripping your firearm?

Hello everyone, I just came across this site searching for a book by Steve Anderson. I shoot IDPA weekly at a gun range in Norcross, GA and I do a monthly match at the South River Gun Club. I love to shoot and I love to learn, so this should be a perfect match.
