  1. Hi Guys,

I want to get into 3 gun all I need is a shotgun. I shoot USPSA with an open Glock, so I will probably shoot open. I looked at a Benelli M 18" barrel $975.00 and a Saiga 12 19" barrel $799.00. I live in CT and the pistol grip on the Benelli keeps me from adding an extension mag unless I get rid of the pistol grip. The Saiga's workmanship looks very rough compared to the Benelli. Which gun would you buy and why? Is 18" enough barrel length for an extended mag and how many rounds would that add? I am very new to shotguns, any info would be helpful.

    Thanks

  2. I am no expert on open Glock guns, so take this with a grain of salt. I have been having the same trouble with my open Glock gun. The empty cases are hitting the bottom of my cmore scope and are getting deflected back into the slide. So to try and fix this problem I think the cases need to be extracted sideways. The two mechanisms to extract the empty cases are the ejector and the extractor. The only thing you can do with the extractor is to put a stronger spring in. To throw the cases with more force. This does little in the direction the cases are being thrown

The ejector deciedes what direction the cases are being thrown depending on were it hits the back of the case. My stock 9mm ejector is slightly bent inwards. Which will hit the case more in the middle causing the empty case to be ejected upwards. I have installed a 40 ejector which is a straight ejector. I am hoping that this will cause the cases to be ejected more sideways instead of upwards. I plan on shooting my open Glock tomorrow at a steel match. I hope this works.

What do you guy think? I hope it works. I will let you know tomorrow.

    Craig,

I installed a non LCI extractor and filed the ejection post to a point FROM THE BOTTOM(very important) essentially raising the point where the post hits the case. I did not shorten the point at all! I did order an extended ejector from B&B Enterprises,"http://www.bb-enterprise.biz/item169941.ctlg" but for now what I did worked. 250 rounds no problems.

  3. I just purchased my 1st revolver. A S&W 45cal 4" 625-8 JM. I want to use it to shoot Pin's and Plates. Looking for a light load using 200gr SWC over Tightgroup (due to an over abundance of it) Is there anything special about the OAL with a revolver?

  4. Can someone outline the actual mechanics and interaction of the "extractor & ejection post"? Where does the ejection post contact the case, on the bottom, on the side or where? How does increasing tension on the extractor help? How does lengthening the ejection post help?

Thanks for the great input so far.

    Joe

  5. Lookso great. You hit the berm every time. :)

What load are you running? Might be too light.

Good thing that berm was big.lol

I'm running a 124gr MTG CMJ over 7.9 grs of HS6 with an oal of 1.130, Velocity 1380 fps PF 171

  6. Robert,

(Berry's 155 FP - Titegroup 5.5gr - 1.125 OAL) You might want to check the accuracy of this one. I was shooting in my Open G35 with a Jager Comp and couldn't hold the paper, I had to switch to HS-6. Tightgroup with my Berry's 180gr are perfect in my limited gun.

  7. Does any know of any kind of IPSC/Steel Challenge video simulation software available? Any Type? With all the new interactive games out there it is a wonder that someone hasn't come up with a good USPSA shooting simulation. Does any one know any software/game designers?

  8. Here is my G35 3Gen Open

    Glockworx trigger

    Lone Wolfe Slide and Barrel

13 lbs ISMI spring & Captured guide rod

    Jager Comp

    SJC Slide Rack

    SJC Micro Dot Mount

    Docter Dot 7 min

    Grip done by me

    155 Berrys FP, 7.8 grn HS-6 1.120 OAL

    171 PF 1110 ft/sec

    Target shot @ 50 ft

    Gun runs great!

Also a pic of my G34 Open

  9. Does anyone make a plated bullet that is rated for over 1200 ft/sec? I am shooting an open Glock 35. I was using Berry's 155gr RN pushing it at 1100 ft/sec (to meet PF) until I bench rested the round and couldn't put 1 round in the black at 50 ft! Compared to their 180gr RN at 960 ft/sec all rounds in the black no problem. I am using Tight Group until the 16 lbs I have is gone. Then I will switch to HS-6 but I don't think that will make a difference since I still have to push the bullet at 1100 ft/sec. Is the difference between the 180gr and 155gr when using a compensator that much when using the same powder???

  10. How about the way the dot is projected on the lens? I think I have heard the term "paralux???" The reason I am asking is that I have an STS on one gun and a Ultra Dot LT on another, it seems that I can place the dot of the Ultra Dot on the center of the target but if the gun is not level, my shot is low or high. With the STS to place the dot on the target the gun has to be level. Both guns are Glocks the Ultra is mounted on the slide and the STS is on an SJC Frame mount. I am thinking of buying a Docter to replace the Ultra but I'm trying to figure out if it is me or the sight that is giving me the trouble.

    Thanks

    Joe
