  1. So the Roulette caps fit on the end of the Carbon Arms one piece tube? How do they look? Can you post up some pics?

    Mick

That's not quite what I said. The roulette cap fits on the plus 2 Nordic extension. The plus one that comes with the Carbon tube doesnt have an end cap at all, so the roulette won't work. I don't have any pictures, it looks like any other cap, but longer.

  2. You have two options:

    1. Extension flush with barrel: Swap your current standard end cap from a standard to the XL end cap which is 3/4" long. This will allow you to run 10+1 still (Nordic out of stock): http://nordiccomp.com/retail/shop/nc-extensions/nc-shotgun-extension-tube-end-cap/

    2. If you truly want the +2 you can order just the +2 tube from Nordic (available): http://nordiccomp.com/retail/shop/nc-extensions/nc-12-ga-shotgun-extension-tube-tube-only/

WIth mine I ordered the 8+3 from Carbon and swapped out the +3 tube for the +2 tube from Nordic:

    Mark,

Can you confirm that option 2 here is what needs to be ordered to extend the Carbon tube?

I'll answer my own question for anyone else that may be considering this. I ordered the Nordic plus two extension and it fit fine making it a 10+1 gun. Now the added bonus. I had a couple Roulette tactical extended caps on my bench so I swapped out one of those caps with the Nordic cap that came with the extension and voila, I now have the capability of a 9+1, 10+1 or 11+1 depending on the match or my mood.

  3. The shell latch is pretty tight from the factory. Take it out and smooth out the rough edges at the tip. You can also open up the forward small half moon shaped openings with a small round file. Polish up the exterior surface and you will be good to go. Also take note of the factory mag spring. You can cut several coils off and it will make loading much easier. Careful not to cut too much, or you won't have enough tension to push out the last shell in the mag tube. Replacing the factory spring with a Nordic spring is a good idea anyway. The synthetic model does not come with the comb inserts, overmolded grips, or the adjustment kit. Charging handle should pull right out. As for the bolt release. It's a simple drill and tap. If you are not comfortable on that, someplace like C-Rums will do it for a small fee and fast turnaround. Release out of your gun and send the part in. You're the first person I've ever heard say that could not tell a difference in recoil. Maybe the soft cheekpiece in the Tactical makes a difference in perceived recoil.

  5. Wow, I've never seen people be so rude on this site. I thought I was on ar15.com for a second.. Let me clarify my post. MY Edge, and others I've spoken with, have had problems with the shoulder sticking before it is fully chambered, regardless of oal. It's got nothing to do with loading practice, it's the size and profile of the bullet. I've used MG, PD, Bayous, Speer, and black bullets with absolutely no problems, but it will choke on lead. Been loading many years with success including lead in all sorts of calibers and weights.

  6. I recently discovered a mix of 124's and 115's mixed together in a bag of free samples from a vendor. This was from a vendor tent at a major match. Not really happy about that.

  7. They need to work on their quality control. I would start with the barrels, the slug poi is awful. I saw another one where it cracked at the weld near the piston housing. On the rib of one of my barrels, it looks like they never finished the top. It looks like a V notch all the way down the rib. I handled another VM at Superstition last weekend that sounded like it had rocks in the recoil spring and the action was VERY gritty. Brand new gun and it was choking constantly. If they can't keep issues like this from cropping up, the momentum they have been gaining will fade quickly. With that said, I love my VM and it has been extremely reliable.

  8. I went through a 5 gallon bucket of turned in ammo. Old, dirty, miscellaneous junk and the ONLY round that had a problem was a 7/8 oz. featherweight load that sounded more like a squib than a shotgun blast. It stovepiped. Everything else was perfect. Lots of split brass on the ground. And the gun was dirty as hell. How long has it been since Sears sold ammo???

  9. I had a great time. First time there, hopefully not the last. You guys put on a world class match. The small attention to detail did not go un-noticed by this shooter. Great job! I never found out, what was the mystery with the rubber ducks????

Yvette does ducks!!! :goof: Just don't mess with them!!!

Whenever you arrive on a stage and it has the rubber duckies, you know Yvette is there...and don't mess with her either! :surprise:

    Denise

I'm confused then, what was the mystery?
