  1. Another +1 for Nordic. I got mine out to the range today and shot around 300 rounds. It choked on Remington subsonics, which didn't really surprise me. Federal bulk pack was excellent with my best group at 1/2" at 50 yards for zeroing. Only one failure to fire with the bulk pack. Honestly I expected more than that. It was a lot of fun plugging away at the steel. I was shooting at 5" plates from 50 yards and dropping them with no problem. Bottom line, it was fun and I got about $100 worth of trigger pulls for about $10. A few more range trips and this baby paid for itself. Not to mention the savings in barrel life for my competition rifle. One thing I will mention is that the barrel length includes the flash hider. It gives the appearance that it is slightly shorter than my 18" Noveske. Had I known that, I think I would have gotten the 20" version. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

I just went from a Miculek to a Titan and had a huge POI change.

    How huge?

I think it was 12" high and 10" left. I have had no difference in accuracy though. Still getting under an inch at 100 yards with a Noveske barrel.

  3. The absolute best flash hider on the market right now is the AAC Blackout. Its noticeably better than the Smith Vortex and the Smith Vortex has set the standard for a long time.

But yes.....accuracy will not be affected by the installation of a flash hider. What can change....is POI. Thats usually a function of how tight the flash hider is installed.

  4. I've never gave a lot of concern to what velocity I was getting other than an indicator of pressure. I was using xm 193 for 3gun matches this year, but I think for next year I'll do my own. My accurate load with 55's are getting 2900 which is pretty slow compared to the 3200 fps I was getting with factory ammo. That's about another 13" drop at 500 yards. I'm going to stick with 55's for now to keep it simple. I have loads for 69's and 75's but it's a pain keeping three different zeros. So what are you getting from your 55's?

  5. Thanks guys for replying. You both nailed the problem. I hope shooting new isn't the only solution though. I just forked out a nice new gun's worht of dough getting into shotgun reloading. I'm going to drive out that pin tonight and polish the shell stop. Hope I don't open up a can of problems...

I'm no expert, but I would be concerned with shells coming out of the tube when they aren't supposed to if it were polished too much.

  6. My SLP will do that if a shell has been stuffed in the mag tube and then unloaded over and over. The reload practice shells wont even come out of the mag tube anymore without manually reaching up and moving the stop out of the way.

I only shoot factory new shells though so I don't have a problem actually shooting the gun.

This happens to me also. The fix is to only use quality new ammo on match day. In practice if I have one that doesn't load, working the bolt once or twice gets it to chamber for me.

This is the link to MGM's targets. Ours were homemade. Jesse is just mad because we put some superglue on his the last two years...:roflol: . After talking to several folks, we are going to redo ours slightly to control the spin/splatter.

At first MGM said they didn't, then said they would, then said they can't. Then they called me back this afternoon and said they would. So at this point I have an order in. I'm glad it worked out and I am able to buy from them since they support so many matches. And for the record I didn't have a problem knocking any of them over, when they were hit anyway.

  8. One thing I have noticed when dry firing my Pro is that the front sight will jump to the right when the trigger breaks. If I "set" the slide to the right before I fire, it doesn't do this. The slide has a lot of slop left to right in it. I wonder if this is enough to through a shot off just a bit before the bullet leaves the barrel? I haven't had a chance to test this theory at the range. Anyone else have a lot of slide movement at the muzzle?

  9. I don't know if they are quality or not, but I do 3-gun classes every once in a while. The emphasis is on tricks and stage reading that makes or breaks a match. Plan on Rifle out to 300 and pistol to 50 and shotgun for SPEED! I might be doing one latter this fall. KurtM

Is that in western Wyoming? Where can I get some more info?

  10. I've been using the Chip McCormick drop in triggers. The have been awesome for me. Nice single stage break around 3lbs. with a strong reset. No set screws or adjustments to make. Pull the pins and drop in the unit.

While some of the adjustable triggers on the market can be tuned lighter, I've gone away from them. This trigger does everything I want it to do with no adjustments. I likem' so much that I'm putting them in all my competition and training setups.

ETA- These are the newest models manufactured this year with improved internal designs to improve trigger performance and reliability.

Disclaimer- I liked them so much that I convinced CMC to sponsor me! Just wanted you to know that I do have a Professional affiliation with CMC.

I love my McCormick trigger in my competition rifle. It makes my patrol rifle trigger feel like I'm pulling a freight train. And for the record, I'm not sponsored by CMC.
