  1. Look at the bolt head itself....use a set of number gauge drill bits.....I bet you'll find the one that craters has a larger firing pin hole than the other. Also look at firing pin diameter.

You can have the bolt head drilled bigger and bushed if you are that worried about it, but it's normal primer flow I would suspect.

  3. One of the new rule changes for 2013:

"in 2013 3GN Semi-Pro competitors must shoot Tactical Optics in order to earn 3GN Semi-Pro points"

EPIC Fail. I guess I will just sign up for divisional. I hope this doesn't goat screw the other divisions though. Hate to think that nobody will be shooting Open or Heavy because 3GN wants everyone to shoot TO. Sucks too, because you can't sign up for divisional and amateur, just divisional and semi-pro.. how f*#king stupid is that.

If what 3 Gun Nation is doing is so terrible why not just shoot outlaw matches for fun and not sign up? That's what it's all about anyway, having fun, right?

I still don't understand the logic behind not wanting to shoot TO to become a pro when becoming a pro means you have to shoot only TO. If TO is so terrible why would you want to be a Pro at all?

I wanna be a pro tac irons shooter like Kurt and Trappr

  4. Highsider, can you link to the particular "how to clean and lube a 930" post that you referred to? Would appreciate it. Got my lifter back from C-Rums and can't wait to get back to the range with it! Also have a set of extended tubes coming. Will update when I've shot some more. Thanks for all the input, guys!

After reading up on this forum about how to properly clean and lube a 930, (thanks Billy)' I went back and wiped down the moving parts to eliminate the excess oil on the bolt, piston and gas rings. I'm used to lots of oil being a good thing, my baretta 92f likes to run wet.

Biggest thing that needs cleaned is the rings on the piston......take them off the piston and clean them spotless to the point when put back on the piston they rattle.

  5. Do yourself a favor. Tear down your shotgun and take the rings off the poison in the lug under the barrel that slides over the mag tube and clean them spotless then put them back on and put your gun back together.

  6. The compression force of 12" of stock spring vs a Nordic spring is much different, due to much thinner wire used in stock spring. I would expect the stock spring should work with XL or even XXl caps as Mossberg uses the same spring in both JM versions, according to the tech I spoke with. Would not cut the original as it feels super soft compared to aftermarkets named above, so loading is easy, and a failure to feed may result. Not sure what is gained by going with the aftermarkets unless the original takes a set. Am open to be educated if I am missing something.

My 930 started life as a stock shotgun, want a JM edition so my stock spring was too short

  7. Perhaps if the stage designers put the slug targets at the very end of the stage and prohibited loading slugs at the start, it would prevent the safety/engagement problem???????

To me that kinda sounds like dumbing it down.I don't want to see match directors dumb it down. Hell I'd like to be able to shoot a popper with buckshot if it's got flipped clays on it to throw the clays further in the air to give more time on them.....but that's not happening

  8. I've got a 930 with a choate plus 10 or whatever it is to give me 10 in the tube with a Wolff spring that I cut. Choate springs just dont last, they are super soft to load they just wear quickly I found with my shorter tube for USPSA matches. So now I run the Wolff springs.
