Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered some of the TF basepads. I've also got the Black Scorpion Gear CO holster on order. Should be in soon. I'll post some pics and feedback when I get it in. As for a dot, I settled on the Holosun 507c. Just waiting for my optics plate to come in.

As far as guide rods go... does any Glock guide rod work or do I need something that is PDP/PPQ specific?

Enjoying the trigger on the PDP so far. Best striker fired trigger that I've come across. Only other issue that I've had with the gun is my support hand pinches my right hand middle finger against the ridge on grip where the ambi mag release can be moved to if you're a lefty. Thinking of getting a dremmel or shaving that ridge off with a file.

ZR tactical makes one that will fit in the 4.5" pdp but you can also use a guide rod for an M&P, I am using a tungsten one I purchased several years ago in my 5". I haven't tried other guide rods yet.

  3. The TF basepads will get you to 22 in the mag, plus one in the gun. I haven't had a chance to play around with different mag spring/follower combinations but am going to give that a try in the next few months.

Holsters, there are a few options and the comptac one is good but I understand you don't like it. I am working with a holster maker now to get them a 5" gun mold completed but not the 4.5" one, although it will or should work in the same holster.

I use the DPP and have also mounted a Holosun on one as well but don't know the answers to the RTS design.

The flatwire springs from ISMI are compatible and work well but you will also need to add a stand alont guide rod for them unless you want to hassle with the stock one. I'm using the 15# one.

Yeah, I want to play with different weight springs.”  So zr tactical is the only thats uncaptured one available?

No, you can use a full length guide rod for an M&P as well. I am running a tungsten full length guide rod from Speed Shooters Specialties that I bought many years ago. I used it in my 5" ppq for almost 2 seasons prior.

  6. The SF soaks up a lot of felt recoil and seems to shoot a bit flatter...but...I say felt recoil because watching the two guns cycle in slow motion the muzzle seems to rise about the same for me. Target transitions seem a bit easier with the lighter gun as well but the biggest difference is in the grip. The SF feels pretty good in my hand with the Walther Slim Aluminum grips or the Lok sliim grips but the PDP fits my hand like a glove.

  7. The Walther Arms, Inc. Area 4 Championship match is filling up!

We are at 359 competitors as of this post and the weekend schedule is full. There are still spots available for Thursday or Friday, shooting all 13 stages in 1 day.

The stages will be broken down like this, 4 - 24 rounds or less stages, 2 speed shoots and 7 long field courses from 26 - 32 rounds each. Yes, there will be a chronograph!

The stages will be sent to DNROI soon and the matchbook will be posted about a week or two before the match.

  8. I am running the PDP this year, the 4.5" full size one with a DPP installed on it with the Walther factory supplied plate and a Holosun 507C with the Walther factory supplied plate as well. I changed out the guide rod to the ZR Tactical one and a 15# Glock Flat Wire ISMI recoil spring.

I was running a wilson combat 15# flat wire 1911 spring in my SF gun and they are shorter compared to the Glock springs and feel lighter too. The 15# Glock springs releive some of the tension on the recoil feel but not as much as the Wilson springs. With the Wilson springs I also ran a 6# Glock striker spring and if I am going to run that combination in my PDP I will use the Glock striker spring as well.

I plan on doing some testing next week with the different springs, primers etc and may record some slow-mo video to see how it looks.

  9. We are currently sitting at 331 shooters for the match with the weekend schedule completely full. There is still plenty of room on all-day Thursday or all-day Friday shooting so don't hesitate to sign up! If you are wanting to be put on the waitlist, there are only 3 people on it so far and I am sure we will have a few withdraws as we get closer.

Speaking of withdrawals, the full match refund date is fastly approaching on July 15th. After July 15th you will only receive half of your match fee back and after August 1st there will not be any refunds given as a majority of the match funds will be allocated by then.

Expect 13 - 14 stages with a minimum round count of 330 rounds plus chrono.

  10. The match is currently full for the weekend but there are still plenty of spots available for all-day Thursday or Friday shooting. Remember Thursday is STAFF shooting day, so only choose that day if you absolutely have to.

You can get on the waiting list for the weekend if you want to by emailing me, Area4@uspsa.org, and ask to be put on it. The current waitlist is 0.

Hope you'll come and shoot with us this year!

I have never seen USPSA be open to discussing proposed rule changes, they do what they want, the AD's don't really care what the members want they just go along with what the President wants.

That's an interesting observation from someone I have never heard from, know anything about or have ever been in contact with. Have you ever contacted your Area Director about anything? If so I bet they were happy to discuss it with you, if not, let me know and I can discuss it with them. But I guess since you're on the internet you know how it really is....

Does anyone have the Walther part numbers for the "updated" extractors and springs? Walther factory claims there are no such things.

I don't have part numbers, just order the Kieth White spring for simplicity. The 6# glock striker spring will allow the gun to stay in battery better when you lighten the recoil spring.
