  1. I’m trying to work up a reliable USPSA load for my daughters recently acquired sig mpx 16” barrel gen 2 and  my dad’s recently acquired  JP5 steel challenge version 14 1/2 inch barrel with comp and 70 locker.

I’m trying to keep things simple and use what I have unless someone would recommend a different bullet or powder that would be significantly better.

I have Everglade 115 full metal jacket bullets and Bayou Bullets 145 grain coated bullets. powder is n230.

Anyone have a favorite load for either gun using 115 or 145 and n320?
    Thank

PA announced the GLx 1x prism and claims it has "near infinite" eye relief. Video from shot show . It looks very promising, available Q2. I had a 1x SLx and was annoyed with the eye relief so I sold it and replaced it with simple aimpoint T2 on a shorty AR.

I shoot a few casual knock down steel matches a year with my girlfriend and we've shared my franken PCC with a 510c that has been very satisfactory. We are changing things up this year with a new build for her and she'll get the 510c. I'm upgrading my PCC to a light weight inspired Maxamundi upper and decided to try the 507 comp on a Scalarworks mount. It should be about half the weight of the 510C which has the spacer installed. If I don't like it I might try the new PA GLx 1x when it becomes available If I catch the right sale.

What height mount did you get on your 507 comp

I have a 507 comp on my PCC now using a Scalarworks Leap/04. It's a very lightweight setup. They currently come in lower 1/3 co-witness  height at 1.57"  or a higher 1.93". They used to make an lower absolute co-witness, which you can still find on the used market. Any Trijicon RMR AR mount will work for your application.

As far as a 45° offset amount for your venom, this arisaka mount, using plate one or plate 7, would work. It's spendy.

I’m fairly new to PCC. Seems like there’d be some benifit to having the dot close to the bore  for parallax, but a higher riser would definitely feel much more natural. Which one do you think has the biggest advantage? Which riser heights do you like the best? do you know the height of that compares to the 510 C in its stock configuration ?

  4. Jp5 on the way and it will need a dot. I have a 510 C on my AR and it’s not bad. Was debating on getting the 507 comp. I think the comp may need a riser. Anyone know which one Max Leograndis is running?
I also have a little vortex venom. I was thinking about throwing on a 45° mount which one of those mounts should I look at?

  5. Ruger PCC set up with Glock Mag adapter. Glock magazines work perfectly fine, but the metal mag latch was wearing away the corner edge of the Mag. Wanted to switch to a metal magazine. I purchased an MBX steel Glock magazine. It does not slide all the way up into my Ruger PCC. Works fine in my Glock but not in my Ruger PCC. Anyone have a similar issue that they found a fix for?

  6. Has anyone use the Tandemkross or M Carbo bolt buffer? I have one sitting on my bench, but I’ve not installed it yet. I taped the buffer directly to the back of the bolt and then dropped it several inches onto the concrete floor. The M carbo buffer bounces back considerably more than the stock buffer.  That energy is going to make the bolt go forward faster than the stock bolt. It’s like dropping the bolt onto a hard piece of plastic (stock)versus a thin rubber bouncy ball.  (Mcarbe)
for those of you who have tried the M carbo buffer does it help, does it do nothing except maybe change a little of the noise, or does the bolt going forward faster make it worse?

  7. Shooting the WRC this weekend with my 14 year old daughter. My daughter wants to shoot the 929 and I do not have any load data for it. I have a couple options. I could bring Factory 115 grain federal ammunition. not sure what power factor that would result in. Or I could load something up with my 145 Gr Bayou Bullets within 320.
I used 145 grain Bayou Bullets with 3.2 g of N320 in my Cz Shadow 2.  That gets me 131 power factor but not sure what that will do in the 929. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Am I going k to load the 160 to a length of 1.125. That’s what my press is at now.

Considering that I see a loss of about 100 fps due to the cylinder gap, I would suggest you try 3.5 of the N320 under your 145s.

My QuickLoad program says you need 3 grains under the 160 to make 124 pf.  At this point, why try to cut it too close?

Not certain what you mean by "category."  If you mean Division, it will only be suitable in the Carry Optic Division IF it:

    1.  Fits in the Carry Optics box (not certain how large your referenced "slightly bigger" base pads might be)

    2.  Meets the division weight requirement (and it should, based on your description).

I should be good for weight.
I can use factory base pads if others are too big.
just need some new mag pouches and holster.

  11. My shadow 2 is set up for carry optics in USPSA. Slide was cut by cz custom for their optics plate and I run an sro. The slide was also cut by cz custom when you needed to make weight for USPSA. Single slot cut on top of the slide behind the front sight. Lok Light weight palm swell grips. Can’t use my USPSA mags but can I use stock mags with slightly bigger base pads. Adds know rounds.

Please explain what you mean by "options."  A very opened ended questions IMO.  To my knowledge any place who could perform the relief cuts you want and you trust to do the work should be able to perform the work to your satisfaction.  However, depending on to what use you use the pistol may be a different answer.  For example, USPSA or IDPA competition to name two that come to mind readily. And, in what division in since rules in USPSA do vary significantly depending on division.  Not as familiar with IDPA but believe the same is true there.

Sorry, option for where to get it done. This is an internal relief cut to prevent the frame from cracking with high round count. New fames all have this relief cut.
