  1. parking area is in the center...there are two rows of bays down both sides. as others said, a 4 wheeler, golf cart, or gun cart would be WAY better than a truck cause it will get tight with 200 trucks in there. With 275 shooter I'd imagine they'd park everyone outside the pro shop...like they did on range day...but i could be wrong...I hope I'm wrong.
  2. I damn near had a heart attack...thank god for April 15-16th....my Wife's birthday is April 30 and My Anniversary is May 1..... Count me in!
  3. What is the aftermath and fallout? Did something happen after the match? No shit what the hell did I miss?
  4. Great match, Greg. Thanks to you and your crew for all the hard work. That was certainly a match that tested one's whole skill set: target discrimination, support side shooting, technical slug shots, wind reading, odd angles, CQB, shooting out of moving vehicles, crawling, running. My biggest criticism is that there was too much select slug and select slug combined with aerial targets which could easily lead to someone engaging an aerial with a slug. That and my procedural for actually shooting the targets tactically on Stage 4! As for shooting against "Pros." This was a MAJOR 3 gun event, what did you expect? But all of those "Pros" have real jobs too. There are not many Rob Leatham/Jerry Miculek full time shooting professionals. So buy a Nordic Components .22 upper and get out and practice! I joke that I go to the Big 3 Gun matches so that I can get beat by the best. instead of the Local guys,,, that beat me on a regular basis. I try to run with the big boys. I'm working at it and this match, I had a good run. One of the best parts of this sport is that you can, step up and see how well you can do against the best, It may be hard on the ego, but you can step up. I can only think of one other sport that you can step up, ((that would be, Running, or triathlon's)) If you Golf, play B-ball, Ok name a sport,,,your out of luck, you're not going to step up and compete with the best. Get the best equipment you can afford, It does not have to be super high dollar,,, Money does not shoot the gun, ,set up your equipment correctly and Practice. Jim Morris 'Practice!' Now there's a novel idea. reckon i am gonna have to give that a try. Yeah I'm gonna be doing A LOT of that practice stuff. A LOT! Especially with my pistol.
  5. Are wayward out-of-state folks invited? Don't want to crash a private party, but Fox and Hound sounds good. Open to anyone we changed to the Hyatt lobby bar....at 1900...shit I'm late...gotta go.
  6. I think some folks are gonna try and get together over at the fox and hound...down the street from the hotel...what times is good for everyone?
  7. 8 You're joking, right Yeah that was a joke...I'm not sure on max size...
  8. 91....Thats just getting warmed up for this joint! Looks like were gonna have spectacular weather for the match. I can't wait.
  9. Damn, Roger. You do realize some folks are coming from out of town, right? Google map to the "area" the map is to the Hilton...Sodolaks is right next door...they're too new for google maps. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=hilton+hotel+college+station&sll=30.631877
  10. Yes most cars can get from stage to stage. What kind of car? But right now it's suppsed to rain on Friday and possibly Sunday. What time does the shootin start? The web site says shooters briefing at 0700 on Saturday.. Awesome. Thanks.

  12. First rounds down range at sun up? Did I miss a go time somewhere? Thanks.
  13. When I shot the WHIDPA 3 gun at Cawthon there was an 80 yard slug shot ( I'm pretty sure the first one was 80?). There's plenty of room to space things out over there in Cawthon.
  14. Those are some pretty cool targets...and the price isn't bad either...might have to get a few to play around with.
  15. Bob...or anyone else...do you have the detailed results for the match? could you e-mail them to me: tduke3853@gmail.com Thanks
  16. Don't know about that...it's the WHIPDA star, which is based out of Monaville around Hempstead. Greg will prolly have one of his own that's even harder... OH...OK well good to know. I heard Fred talking about it...I guess it was just the setup...not the actual building of it...oh well.
  17. Pretty sure that star is THE star for the LT3G...have you guys ever seen the crazy ass star with the no shoots spinning around behind it? called the "Oregon star" or the "Evil" Texas star... ETA: Gregg don't go googling that damn thing...please!
  18. +1 on the stubborn star plates! Last weekend at the WHIDPA 3Gun match hosted at Cawthon saw very "sticky" star plates on Freq Q's shotgun extravaganza of death! My SLP with I/C shooting 7-1/2 3 dram loads took them off fine, but I would go no lower! It's gonna be great! Can't wait! Kyle I didn't have any problems with the star either and I was shooting cheap wally world 7.5's. There were quite a few folks there that were having a HELL of a time knocking the star plates off...I'm not sure what they were using for ammo...but I know some had cylinder bore shot guns...
  19. Fred, Bob, MRT53 I know you guys probably have plenty of help but if you ever need anyone to shoot the targets and or stages to see how they run please let me know. I know my self as well as a few friends would love to be of assistance. We are local and are available any time were not on call...let us know. Please. We like to shoot shit. And Fred I had no problem with the star. Leave it AS IS! I know a lot of guys that had "issues" were using cylinder bore guns...and like you said the rest may have been shot placement. I really enjoyed shooting the "swingers" or "flashers" whatever they were called. Great job guys....I can't wait until May!
  20. Thanks Fred! The targets rocked (some literally rocked!). In my squad there was a LOT of bitching about the TX star...I cleaned it! Well one fell off before I got there...but I got the other four no problem! Using 7.5 shot at that! I have to admit though I was worried...a lot of guys hit the steel but it wasn't moving.
  21. Do not worry about availability. They have two overflow hotels lined up. The contact person there is on maternity leave, and has been replaced by Lauren Norman. Her # is 979 695-9500 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 979 695-9500 end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Great gal. Give her a call for any needs or reservations. I really enjoyed the inaugural match yesterday...you have an awesome "backyard". Looking forward to May! Thanks to everyone else for all of the hard work that has gone into this match thus far. That was my first time shooting out to 400...combined with the wind and the elevation drop I was pleasantly surprised at how well I did...I'm sure Greg will throw some other little snag in there to make it more of a challenge.
  22. OK so I'm gonna double this and add 35...actually a little less than I was expecting.
  23. Cheese...I plan on running the following: LaRue 18" AR with a Burris XTR 1-4 1911 in .45acp with 10rd magazines...I need LOTS of practice! 12GA shotgun...right now I have a Mossberg 500 28in field gun with a 5 shell capacity...I'm gonna try to get something with more capacity and hopefully get some trigger time on it or better yet reloading time.
