So your 2 screws that secure the Optic now extend until they touch the slide? Almost acting as a set screw as well? Or you just cut them longer to engage more threads on the EGW mount?
Might have to look into that.
ezra650, the longer screw do not touch the slide.

My wife shoots a Springfield 1911 9mm loaded with the Burris FireFire 3 with the dovetail mount. We had some problems with the factory supplied screws being to short and pulling the threads out of the dovetail insert after around 5,000 rounds. Bought some longer 6-48 screws and cut them down so the screws bottoms out in the dovetail insert, problem solved.

My wife and I are taking his class this week end in Whitewright Texas at Mission 160 range.

Very happy with my 230 grain FMJ over 5.8 grains of BE-86. It passed the Chrono ( New Radar thing) at the IDPA Lone Star Match in Cresson Texas
last Saturday. They came out at 750FPS and were accurate shot out of a Les Baer Concept V.

See #2 in this link:

Edit: FWIW I wasn't reloading with Dillon equipment and felt that it was still like you mentioned with the new brass... got easier after it was once fired!
I sent mine in to Starline and what a difference.

I understand the UniqueTek toolheads can make a difference in consistency, especially if you use the lock screws instead of the factory locating pins.
Any actual experience with these?
I installed them on my XL-650 tool head, did not see any great difference. Was more concerned about stripping out the inserts when removing the tool head.
They are now living in a drawer in the shop.

Saw an ad of a local fella who sells these. What exactly do they look like? Will they feed reliably compared to 200gr LSWC? Are there any load data for these bullets?
Thanks.
I saw a load in one of my books and thought it was strange.I will see if I can't find it and get back to ya.I never saw a 230gr.swc so the load kind of struck me as odd but they do sell them. What Co.I would like to try some.
Hornady # 12308 LRN 230 Grain
COL 1.245
Diameter 0.452
What powder do you want to use?
Found the above data in The complete reloading manual for the .45ACP

Darren, Got the belt loop today and it looks like it was made at the factory. Great Job.

I have two prototypes that I'd like to give away for free IF you would be willing to pay for shipping (I believe priority mail is approx. $5.00). The first two people to respond will get one. I can do Paypal for the shipping cost.
Darren
Darren,I would like one, however do not have a paypal account. Will be more than happy to send you a USPS Money Order.

As compared to other calibers I'm loading, some .45 ACP cases (greatest offenders being S&B cases) seem to stick to the powder funnel/expander. Case mouth flaring is OK and I've mirror polished the outside of the funnel body. It helped but they're still a noticeable friction retention when lowering the ram. Any similar experience and solution ?
Thanks in advance.

I was having the same problem with my Dillon .45ACP expander. Don't remember where I saw the article that the .45ACP expander were a bit oversized. I sent mine
to a company ( can't find the link ) they cut down and polished it for free. Problem is gone.
