Our tumbler is 10" pvc 18" long.
for some reason it shows edited but doesn't save the edit? ? ?

I built one similar , for tumbling alum parts , using the green triangles for cleaning , however they get wedged into the 1/4" slots in our parts. Causing a lot of cleanup time removing them.
My question is , are the SS pins to abrasive for 6061 alum? We use a random orbit sander,120 grit, to get the proper rough surface for our finish to stick to.
Any idea if the SS pins may work ? Anybody use SS pins to debur alum.?

I think it broke after about 6 shots , HOWEVER it is VERY cool to see what can be done.
BTW , I also think some IDIOT politician is ALREADY trying to outlaw them.

I melted mine in the slide my self , cut it to the same depth as the rear site dovetail. That still allows the auto sensor to work , I'm thinking of lowering it another 2 mm , and mill a slight slot in front of the sensor to allow the sensor to still get light.

My son and I use tac vests , dont see to many others. I like it cause it's easy/quick to put on/take off.
I like to practice/compete/train with what I use.

Last time I did something like that , actually thought I had crushed the bones, While waiting for the xrays , I told the doc I was going to drill it, he looked at me
then went and got a neat little soldering iron looking thing , burnt through the nail , blood squirted about 5' across the room.Then he gave it to my wife , said "He'll probably get some good use out of this" .
ETA : never lost the nail , but it took over a year to get back to normal, still a small dip in the nail though.

I have a picture of a 3 shot group my 13 year old daughter shot with one of Chris Patty's AR15's. It measured .5275........Did I mention it was shot at 300 yards

Wan't she about 117 or so out of 150, very good. Probably moved up 10-15 spots if she didn't have to babysit you all day

As a newcomer to 3 gun, I enjoyed gamming stages like stage 7. If I want to not think and just pull the trigger, I will go back to highpower shooting. Isn't the idea of this shooting sport doing what you have to do inside the rules that are set forth to finish with the quickest time?
I had a blast at this match, like most all of the 3 gun matches I have shot.
Great stages, unlike any I have experienced so far!
I am interested in hearing the legal technique for the slug swing stage though. Wondering if you could put your feet down between shots? Thought about it after and can't remeber what the walk through said, I just sat down with my feet on the swing and shot but if I would have asked about putting my feet down in between to stabalize I would have done that. Mind games you say...
I too would like to hear this. Squad 5 was told we could NOT touch the ground with after we fired our first slug shot.
One MAJOR problem with stage 7 was that although the platform was included in the stage diagram, the rules specific to the platform were not mentioned in the written stage briefing. When I hear things like 'legal way to shoot it and minimize the swing' that make the shots basically the same difficulty as off-hand shots, my first thought is what was another squad allowed to do that we were not. Concise and consistent stage descriptions are crucial, especially on a stage like 7.
Except for 7, the stages were fun, and the prize table was good. I'll be back next year. Thanks to the RO's and match staff for the hard work.
When I shot it I did not touch the ground between shots or the Frame and chains. I sat in the middle left of the platform evenly distributing my weight on the chains and placing my shotgun near center. I sat on my knees and raised as high as I could under the frame. Have you ever tried to push a swing from the top? After it settled down from getting on it never moved again. Therefore all I had to do was shoot a 10" target at 55 yards. I took 10 shots but hit them all. When I say more mental han gamey I meant that simple physics in the understanding of how the swing works. I'm not trying to say anyone is ignorant. Just telling you my thought process.
Say's the guy who hit the 400+yard target FIRST shot with an RO's G17? , and the flashers across the lake with a pistol as well.

Right or wrong here's what we saw and the call was made.
It WAS in a dump barrel pointing in a SAFE direction
After inserting the charge handle , racking the bolt , the primer had a VERY slight indentation.
For some reason, the firing pin barely hits the primer when the charge handle is out (Browning)
I tried it on my SG (MKA 1919) it does the SAME ? ? haven't investigated further.
The safety was/seemed to be blocking the firing pin (SOMETHING was) from striking the primer.
The safety was , at least partially engaged , benefit of doubt goes to the shooter.

The 10 second Failure to neutralize [or 5 second if Jesse gets his way] is apparently not enough of an incentive for some shooters to actually try to hit the targets as presented. That was why a cretain other major match enacted the infamous 100 second penalty on long range rifle targets last year. That wasn't a popular solution either. If we go with the 5 second FTN, then every single shooter on stage 6 could have run up to the roof, rattled off 10 shots as fast as possible and still broken about even on time. Why bother ever shooting any target longer than 100 yards again? Heck, why even bother with a nice optic even, I mean a $50 chicom knockoff is good enough for 100 yards, right? Those are extreme examples, but you see my point.
I personally believe in setting the standard a bit higher, and if the result is a bit difficult, well, it wouldn't be 3 gun if it wasn't a challenge. As far as playing stump the chump, painting the rifle targets camoflauge at my own club matches was a very effective way for me to equalize between optic shooters and irons without running divisions and classes. Magnified optics tended to have a harder time finding the targets so they were effectively on equal footing with the iron shooters. When was the last time you saw that in a match?
Creative stage design that requires shooters to exert effort is the best possible thing for this sport. Sometimes the execution goes a bit awry [rather like my explanations], but the concept is still valid.
My controversial views aside, it was a great match, and as a RO, I think the competitors should get as much credit for making a match as we do. If the competitors don't come to shoot, there is no match, so thank you, each and every one of you. Thank you for traveling, for putting up with the weather, for putting up with the inevitable issues that crop up, for everything. The friends I make at these matches are worth more than anything that could be put on a prize table.

This is the same wolf ammo , different batch #'s , I shoot about 3k rounds per year of. Used to be lacquer coated. until about 1 year ago.
I never has a problem until the extensions , that's why I think Jet may have the answer.

Because a $250 buy in major match shouldn't have a pure dumb luck make it or break it stage. The guys that smoked it had a great run sure, but I bet none of them could repeat the performance with 10 trys.... When things like the overall winner and division winners are decided on a stage like that, you know it is a problem from a stage designers perspective. Let me put it this way, in my humble opinion, if 70+% of the shooters in the match can't clean an array in a reasonable time every time they shoot it then it doesn't belong in a major match.
Since I am so good at playing the devil's advocate, here's my opinion on this. 3 gun is not a game for weaklings. It should be hard, because that is where the challenge is. This isn't uspsa where merely having an RO touch your target entitles you to a reshoot. We shoot in bad weather, we shoot rediculusly challenging stages that would make a non-shooter's eyes bug out, and we solve every problem thrown at us. The level of talent at 3 gun matches is ever increasing, so the difficulty should also increase. If it is easy, then it gets boring. If 70% of the shooters clean the stage with a good time, the stage wasn't hard enough. It's these stages that separate out who can really shoot from those of us that haven't practiced enough. If a good shooter requires a stage to be "easy enough" to get a good time, then they aren't that good of a shooter.
I have set up matches with 45# knock down targets at 185 yards, if you were shooting underpowered ammo, guess what? I have taken mini-ipsc cardboard targets painted some green stripes on them and stuck them in tall grass. How about having to drag a 100# dummy, or balance yourself on the side of a roof so you don't fall off while you shoot? Everything is a challenge and shame on the gamers that decided to rattle off 6 quick slugs and take the penalties. Were it my stage, I might have considered assessing penalties for Failure to Engage penalties or maybe procedurals for not engaging them in the correct order, if the shooter obviously wasn't aiming. Maybe something like IDPA's "failure to do right" penalties.

I am looking for a speed chute for a mossberg 930. I have read that you can adapt a Benelli M2. I searched everywhere but no one was 100% clear on how to do it or exactly which one was best to use. Thanks.

I can never figure out why people complain that one stage or another is unfair , or shouldn't be in a MAJOR match , WHY ?, EVERYBODY has to shoot it , everybody has the same chance.

Whether it's a $25.00 match or $250.00 or an RO it's STILL the same , EVERYBODY shoots the same stages.

Gen 4 G17 , just over 1500 rnds shot , Wolf 115 grain poly performance ammo ,4 mags/ Arreddondo 5 round extensions ,Have shot about 1-150 rounds through each ,NO problems.
Last weekend , ALL 4 gave problems at a match , 3 on 1 stage , 2 on another , etc.
They will feed 1 - 3 rounds , then turn into a box of skittles , the bottom 2 rounds will wedge and leave the rest loose and rattling around , most times, even dropping the full mag wont shake them loose.
After the match , shot 2 full loads through each NO problems
Don't think I can trust them any more.
Any ideas ?

Shooter has a malfunction on his shotgun , when he cycles the bolt the charge handle breaks off.
He pulls the trigger , CLICK !
Dumps gun clears remaining targets with pistol , pistol/shotgun was optional on this stage.
SG was dumped with round in chamber , hammer down , safety was STUCK between safe and fire .
Rules are , dumped gun with round in MUST be on safe .
Does he get D'd for a weapon malfunction ?

Rules/penalities , ad nausea m ,
Me and two others , shot 3 matches at 2 different clubs ,
one, FREAKED out cause we had Tac. vests on told us to leave, didn't ask if LEO or MIL , luckily the RM knew us and intervened , STILL we wont go back there.
Other one seemed to be more about setting up the stages to be a memory game/penalties, not shooting/order of target sequence makes NO sense.
Good club/stages , we shoot em as we see see um , don't care about the penalties
sorry , I'll stick to outlaw matches.

Finally, why is it that one hit on paper (not an alpha), is counted as a 10 second penalty? Shouldnt 1 miss be less of a penalty than someone who completely misses the target??
Something is messed up there. That should be 5 seconds.

Either shoot an A , or double tap , 98% double tap. I don't see a problem.
