Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. welcome from the north part of the state, aka God's country. good luck
  2. i'm trying to get into reloading .223 but need help in deciding what dies to use. I reload 9mm on Dillon 550 but I also have a Lyman T-mag that i thought about reloading rifle ammo on. Thanks for your help.
  3. Congratulations Ssm. Nothing to it right. You know i'll be expecting lessons now don't you. Anyway, job well done and I do appreciate the help at our local matches. I now have two GM's to shoot with regularly, how lucky can a fellow get.
  4. you can on a G17 but not a 19
  5. doc, i am new to this also. i started shooting end of march this year, made marksman first try, sharpshooter 2nd try and hopefully expert by mach 2010. here is what i found. practice single taps, practice double taps, practice transtions, all live fire. practice draw, sight alignment and reload every night. don't get caught up in the speed chase and shoot for accuracy. also don't get caught up in the classifier but enjoy the matches. p.s. make some of your practices long distance shooting like 25 - 30 yards. after you shoot that awhile 7 yards feels like a gimme. my 2 cents
  6. dillon 550 hands down. not as fast as 650 but much easier to work with. also no BS warranty.
  7. sirveyr, if you can get WSF powder, i have found 3.2gr loaded out to 1.145 will get you a pf of 127. at least that is what i get with my 34 when a chono'd them. i went ahead and bumped it to 3.3gr just to make sure i have enough power for poorly set steel. this load shoots reaaly well with the precision 147's. it shoots real smooth. i think you will be impressed with it.
  8. I have great results with them with no problems. They shoot very good in my G34 with a Lone Wolf barrel using 3.5gr of WSF loaded to 1.14. They turned out a pf of 127.
  9. Has anyone noticed this or is it just my reloader? after I initially set my bullet depth for my OAL at a certain depth, Ex. 1.140, on just my initial single bullet, I will start to reload a batch but as soon as my shell plate gets full and all 4 stages are going at one pull, my OAL will change to 1.145 or longer. So if I want to seat a specific OAL i have to initially set it up with a shorter length. What gives?
  10. good mornin' gents. I ordered some 147gr 9mm from PD last week and they told me it would be January....if i'm lucky. They do shoot very good but you can't depend on them to keep you in stock. I cancelled a 10K order with them earlier this year.. You would think they would increase production levels if they were this far behind. My 2 cents.
  11. thanks guys. i think i will give 'em a try. it's only money right. can't take with ya'
  12. Ed, i also recently bought a 34 and drove myself crazy trying to decide what sight to get. i decided on the warren sights but had to then dcide which flavor to get. i decided on the sevigney sight and love it. my accuracy has really increased and i am picking up the front sight quicker. you won't regret the sight. i did replace the red with the green f.o...i seem to pick the green up better. the only thing i would advise after you get them is to do a lot of group shooting from bags to get used to them. good luck
  13. i recently won a substantial gift certificate at a 3-gun match where i was SO'ing and since i don't have a AR-15 type rifle, i thought i might apply it towards one of theirs. does anyone have any experience with their rifles? also, i need a scope recommendation since i'm going to try competition shooting with it.
