This resulted from a Mom in Alabama asking her high school son to help with a commercial for the Tea Party she was involved in organizing. Boy, does it slam the message home. Very impressive. Here is her note: "I asked Justin if he could help me make a commercial for my group's Tea Party. He sat down at the laptop for about an hour, and then brought this to me and asked, 'is this okay, Mom?' After I finished watching it, my stomach was in my throat. I am just getting into the reloading and bought 500 lead bullets (my shop didnt have any jacketed and I was to impatient to wait for an order to come in) Once I am up and running how should I care for my gun afterwords? Cleaning sequence etc...

Jody I am in the midcoast area. Get your paperwork done and just do it. I have had ALOT of fun so far. Nosteel, next year I plan on making one or two out of state shoots to see what they are like. I just need to find out what it takes to get my guns from state to state without ending up in the clinker. As for what guns I will shoot I am going to stick with my m&p9 production probably sell my m&p40c because I NEVER use it I bought that one as a carry gun but the wife had a fit, pick up a 9pro for my main production gun and save my reg 9 for back up and hopefully when S&W comes out with a 40pro I WILL get one of them then start converting that to a limited gun and may be even an open gun just for the fun of it. I just hope ammo and our country holds out!!!

I had planned on keeping my 9 anyway to shoot production. I was going to buy another one for this.

I am new to this whole thing and have been shooting m&p 9 so far and peobably shouldnt be in this conversation cause I have NOOOO idea what I am talking about but have wanted to try open. Now the cost of an open gun is intimidating to say the least. If I bought the special ops 9 with the threaded barrel couldnt I have a comp machined and timed to fit this? As for a scope mount unless there is one out there some where I havnt seen one would have to be made, it could mount to the piciny (sorry spelling) rail and somehow come back and up over. Couldnt I also go as far as to have the barrel ported and have the slide opened up acordingly. I am sure there would be spring changes that I dont know about. Now you say there is already a 2# trigger out there as well as mag well and mag extension. Im not sure what machining cost would be with tooling up for the job but I will pull a number out of my but of $1000 or less. Then you could have an open gun for a begginer in the $15-1600 range. ...LOL maybe it isnt that easy. This is just what my uneducated mind came up with. Todd

Hi all, I am new to USPSA this year and have shot in a half dozen or so shoots. So far I love every minute of it. I found out quick that the cheapest part of this sport was the gun! I have bought a reloading setup (lee turet press) Its isnt the best but it will get me started. One of the guys from the club stopped by and helped me get it set up so that I could get started. I shoot S&W M&P 9 in production. I have good shoots and a few bad shoots but for the most part I come out in the middle of the field over all as well as in my classification. I have had a first place (field of three in production...lol). Like I said this is my first year and my goal is just to see how I like it and I will tell you that everyone is very welcoming and helpful. I am already looking at next year and my goal will be to to improve my scores by comming up with a good practice rutine (kinda winging it now) and hit a larger match or two out of state. Oh ya I almost forgot...Buy amother gun or two, not sure what style I like production but these limited and open guys sure look like their having alot of fun so who knows. Todd
