Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Here is some more info. Tried to use RCBS dies also, and had the same issue: finished rounds would not fit correctly into the case gauge. The head was way out side the MAX length. So, here is a question that I have: All of these cases had military crimps on them and all had a small dent on the top of the case head on the outside edge next to the 7.62x39 or the company name. I have never seen this on 223 cases I have reloaded. Now, I did not not fire these, but I purchased these as "once fired brass" at a local gun show. Any ideas? Gary
  2. I am using the Lee 7.62x39 die set on my Dillon xl650 press, and I am noticing that after using the sizing die on the case, the length is OK using the calipers, and it will fit into the Wilson case gauge. But, the re-sized cases are just a little longer than the MAX length of the gauge. New ammo fits perfectly into the gauge to the correct depth. It looks like the neck is not getting compressed correctly. If I turn the case around and stick the case head into the gauge, it going into the case gauge with ease. I have tried different adjustments on the die, but get the same results. Any ideas? Gary
  3. Powder Valley wants $14.50 for a 1lb and 65.50 for the 5lb container. Gary
  4. I just got 1000 new (never been fired) LC 223 brass, and when I measure it with a case gauge, some of the brass is slightly below the low step. There is no way to lengthen the brass except to fire it in my AR-15. I know that too long of brass can be shorten by the sizing die and trimming it, but how do you lengthen it, or should I even worry? Thanks, Gary
  5. I am reloading 9mm rounds on a Dillon XL650 press with 115Gr. FMJ bullets from Montana Gold. I have measured the bullets and they are .355 inches at the base. After resizing in stage 1 of the press and loading and seating the bullet, if you look at the finished round the case is smaller in diameter near the center and the bullet makes a clear mark from the top of the case to the bottom of the bullet inside the case. Now it is not much, but you can see it. The measurements are: Top of case .376 Center of case .374 Head .386 I get the same look with once fired and new brass. I have shot over 200 rounds with no issues, so should I worry? Thanks, Gary
