well i was able to pick up a new M9-A1 this past weekend. i have run a couple hundred rounds through it without a hitch. i have ordered some striker bushing rods from btguiderods.com and they should be here by weeks' end. it is surprisingly accurate and smooth. i have yet to decide if i will keep the factory sights. they take some getting used to, to say the least. all in all, a nice 9mm pistol.

i shot one of the new M series a few years back and just have not been able to shake the experience. i was actually point shooting and scoring the same as i was with proper sight alignment. while not recommended, i am amazed at the intuitive pointability? of these guns. somebody was paying attention in the design of that grip. i think i am going to drop dime on one soon. i am too intrigued by the design.

yes the dremel and i are old friends. of course, i make custom knives on the side so the dremel is pretty much a required class. i have not looked closely at my feedramp on the .38S. i will have to take a peek when i get home tonight. i am sure some of the more experienced among us here can advise on the feedramp issue.

tell me about it. my wife has S&W 3913 that bites the devil out me unless i am very careful. it fits her little hands perfectly. i have shot only full sized guns for most of my life so i am still developing muscle memory for the smaller guns. heck, my main gun right now is a large frame Tanfoglio. talk about big pistol!

i can prevent it most of the time, i almost have to hold the grip with two fingers to avoid the pinch. it seems bad form from game stance and dangerous in a self defense situation. i may try a slip on grip that might be a little barrier between man and machine. worth a try. i guess that is why pistols come in all shapes and sizes. no biggie.

that is about what i figured. what i get for having bear paws.

i know there are spacers for G17 mags to run in a Glock 19 with no gap in between. does anyone make an extension that fits on the grip frame to make it roughly G17 length? i am tired of pinching blood blisters on my hand doing reloads.

that thing groups like my .38S Limited. good to see the Match is just as accurate.

i don't see a lot of traffic here but i am posting anyway. i have recently become fascinated by the Steyr M9-A1. i know that they are not being imported anymore. i have heard that they are fully supported by SAI in trussville and the CS is great. am i going to regret buying a gun with so little support in the aftermarket?

i have a limited in .45 for sale at the moment that has seen many hollowpoints with no bobbles at all. but my .38S is very picky about bullet shape.

you may already know but it is a no-no to run lead in glocks with the factory barrel. be very careful. lots of glock have gone kaboom from running lead in polygonal rifled factory barrels. best.

that is a smoking deal. i have never even seen one in my neck of the woods.

i am looking for the new Match with the rail. this weight issue makes me re-think my decision. i am indecisive enough fellas.

definitely check the feed lips for spread. i was concerned about this very thing as i am getting a .40 soon. i contacted henning and he said the .40 mags with the spacer is GTG for factory length ammo. best of luck.

that is the direction i am heading. what grips go best with the canyon creek magwell?

good to know. i haven't owned a .40 pistol in some years. i have heard that the big steel Tan is a pussycat in .40 cal.

how are the .40 magazines if i am just running factory ammo? i am looking for a Match in .40 but i don't need magazines problems with the shorter factory loaded .40 ammo. thanks.

unless i have been misled, i believe the magwell for the Limited frame will not fit on the Match frame. there are slight differences in the two. i would love to be wrong. i have the factory magwell on both my Limited guns and love it.

the only one on hennings site is for the Limited frame. it is different than the Match. too bad, i really like that magwell on my Limited guns.

is this problem only with the small frame versions? i have a couple of the large frame Limiteds and want to know if this is something i should look out for in the future. thanks.

pinned, huh? now that sounds like it might be doable. i just didn't want to forever alter my frame. not too much anyway. i have grown so accustomed to my Limited that i don't want to do without a magwell. thanks for the info.

is there a bolt on magwell for the Match frame? i would really love a set up similar to my Limited on the Match frame. i know there are some smiths who can do a weld job, i was looking for something simpler. thanks.

i have read several reports of feed lip spread with witness mags. is this a problem? i was under the impression that most quality mag bodies are heat treated to retain their shape.

now you have got me paranoid about my guide rod. is this a common problem?

yeah, i would run it a while and see how it behaves. if you want a tighter lockup, henning has a slide lock pin that is toleranced to fit tighter than factory. might be a nice fix for ya. both my Limited pistols were tight as a drum so i haven't tried one personally.
