Does anyone have a final word on when this will be started (8 shot minor revos) ?? I was led to think it will be Jan 1 2014. Thanks, John Z.
Sorry, meant to add in USPSA Revolver Division, but you all probably figured that out already!!

I would vote for you in a heart beat. Of corse, I would vote for a goat before obama. Lol
Cool, so as my campaign stands now, I am beating a goat!!! It's a start, I'll build on it from here!! Thanks for your support, now how do I get a few billion dollars in a campaign fund that I can steal to build some new ranges and give powder and primers to everyone that votes for me??

Area 6 is 2 weeks before this one. If shooters have to choice of only one match, It will hurt attendance. Then you have SC state on May10th I believe. I'm not trying to poop on this one, I want to shoot it and I'm sure I will. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks
This is a very good point, especially if SC State match is in early May. I checked the 2014 match thread and it's not listed there and neither is this match.
I am getting the info to USPSA HQ this week, hopefully it gets on the schedule soon

I know, it's tough to do this stuff, we are very lucky in this part of the Country to have so many matches, just not enough weekends!! When I become President, people will shoot Monday-Friday and only work Sat and Sun, we will all have more fun!!

No Zack, it will be the last weekend in April, Sat and Sun the 26th and 27th with staff shooting the Thurs and Fri before. I do have an 8 shot revo that anyone is welcome to use (with Speed Rig) and moonclip holders, all I ask is you bring .38 Spec ammo, and don't blow my gun up!! I will shoot it as staff before Sat and Sun, so anyone that would like to try 8 shot revo can use mine. I'm sure some of the other revo shooters that are coming will make the same offer.

True, the Range is not available during June (Carolina Cup) and I wanted to do this one prior to SS/REVO Nationals so people could get some good trigger time in before. Also had to schedule around all our ZSA and other USPSA matches, just not enough weekends!!

While shooting our local match Saturday, was talking to a friend about this, and he said great idea, he wants to shoot it SS major 1 day and SS minor the next, he is also a very high end shooter (on the US Team for 2014) and felt this would be a great way to compare minor/major in SS Division.
Heck I think is a great way to shoot, a lot. Lol
Yup, 1 trip, 1 night in hotel, 2 Level 2 matches

Heck yea, limited Sat. Open Sun. Less than 6 hours from home. 2 more shooters you can count on. 4 total classes. Lol
very cool, thanks for your support!!

Great turnout, 49 shooters!! Drove 22 hours to spend 2 minutes 24.25 secs shooting and getting beat by my hero Cliff Walsh, great day. @ more clubs in Florida are now interested in hosting ZSA matches, will post details when I get them

Hope to meet some new shooters this Saturday at Central Florida R&P Club in Orlando, Fl. Driving down from NC to shoot the match, gettin' too cold here, time to head farther South!! ZSA Zombie shootin' is more fun when it's warm.

Working on stages this week, this will be a great time!!!

I would keep the 625, I love all my REVOS!! The whole 6 vs. 8 thing is simple math, and the 8 has an overwhelming advantage due to the 8 shot array that almost every match follows. This is why in April of 2014, my club, NC29 ZSA-USPSA will hold back to back Level 2 matches, exact same match, but set up so you can shoot 6 shot on Saturday, and 8 shot on Sunday. My guess at this point is that a revolver shooter will have an 8-12% higher hit factor with the 8 shot gun. It really bugs me when one of the arguements is "I have an 8 shot revo and can't shoot it anywhere" to that I call BS!!! You can shoot it in revolver (reload after 6 shots) in production ( as long as the hammer is not bobbed) Limited , Limited 10 and open. Revolver can't be shot in SS Division. Revo is the only gun you can shoot in 5 of the 6 Divisions, so yes, there are plenty of chances to shoot it, and if you are good enough, you can beat alot of the bottom feeder guns. Just my opinion, stay SAFE and have FUN
That sounds fun, I may have to see if I can make that.
I will try to get the stages all done and applications up as soon as I can, just got in from setting up this weekend's ZSA pistol match tomorrow, and 3 Gun ZSA on Sunday.

Way to go my REVO Brother, since they are screwing with REVO Division now with 8 shot, I say we add in Revo Macho Division, power factor over 400, only 1 Alpha per target needed!!! That video earned you a Lifetime Membership to ZSA on me, just PM me your info and I'll get the card out, John Z.

Just curious - I saw above about staff shooting on Friday. Does that mean they'll shoot the match twice in one day?
Great question Zack, that would probably be too much, most likely have Thurs and Fri for Staff to shoot, or if up to it, they could in one day. Sometimes I type stuff before I've thought everything through, appreciate the question my friend. This looks like a a winner, will get all other info in place as soon as I can.

I went to send you a PM so as not to spam your thread but I think your inbox is full. To clarify, is one match going to be on one day, and the other on the next? Or is one match going to be one weekend, and the other on the next weekend? But that does sound like a neat premise.
Not sure about the inbox, but I'll check on that, thanks. Yes, it will be "Match 6 vs. 8" on Saturday and "Match 8 vs. 6" on Sunday (if those will be the match names) This way in 1 weekend with only one trip, folks can shoot 2 Level 2 matches back to back. Remember, this is not limited to just REVO shooters (but I hope we get a bunch to resolve the whole 6 vs. 8 thing with some real Hit Factor data), anyone is welcome in any Division. I'm working on stages now, the range is on board 100%, my regular RO's are excited and will be looking for some extra RO's to work the match. Anyone interested, plesae let us know. Will try to have apps done very soon. Appreciate all the input from everyone, John Z.

Yes, they will be 2 separate matches, but identically the same setup. Shoot 1 match or both, they will be completely separate matches for USPSA mission count and classifier purposes, and if you choose to shoot both, they will be separate applications and all. That way you can really compare apples to apples, shoot one match in Limited and one in Open, or revo 6 shot and revo 8 shot, or SS and then as Limited 10 with same gun. How many times have we shot a match and said "man, I wish I shot Stage 6 this way, or should have done that on Stage 2", well now you can!! Just trying to give shooters something a little different this year. Thanks to everyone for your questions and input.

Should have definetive dates and all that in a week. I am really trying to absorb as much feedback as I can get before final decision is made. I know there are other matches that time of year, but not everyone can make Nats, so this may be good for the good folks on the East Coast. Oxford, NC being the top of NC, it's not a bad drive from the Northeast, from the Miss river to the West, and drive North from Florida is not too bad.
-
Good point, really wanted to go before Nats, give all the revo shooters a good chance to practice both guns. Might still go with April, maybe a week or 2 earlier, must check on availability for 10 bays at the Range that day, I am really trying to work with EVERYONE on this, so please keep the feedback coming, try to make as many folks happy as I can, thanks, John Z.

I think this is a good idea. I think it would be even more interesting if you used stages that were not designed for the SS or revolver divisions. It would be interesting to use stages similar to past area and nationals matches. We know they were not designed with revolvers in mind.
Exactly my plan, stages set up per USPSA guidelines give a CLEAR advantage to 8 shot guns, we should all realize this as there is max 8 shots from any 1 position, on an average field course, the 8 shot gun saves 2 reloads over the 6 shot, and those 2 reloads would most likely be static.
-
I have a post up in the Match announcement section, any REVO shooters think they would be interested in shooting back to back Level 2 USPSA matches in REVO using a 6 shot in 1 match and 8 shot in the other? The matches will be identical, like the SS and REVO Nats last year, but now we can REALLY see that an 8 shot over 6 shot has a clear advantage, hopefully this will be a good test of the 6 vs. 8 discussion and we can compare REAL hit factors from a Level 2 match. Feedback is more than welcome, thanks, John Z.

With Doug's input, I am now looking at the 4th weekend in May Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. Monday is Memorial Day, and if enough attendance, we could add a day as well, thoughts from everyone??
