  1. To me it seems so simple:

1st place in each div. goes to table, in order of overall placement between those three.

2nd place in each division goes to table in order of overall placement...

    3rd...

So if Seevers wins open, flexmoney wins lim and I win production, but flex places higher than Bill overall, then he gets dibs. If I beat Bill overall, then I go second, etc.

    Wouldn't that work?

  2. Ours may be different than the real one, it's 2 to a rectangle body, and one to a circle head, at 8 or 10 yards.

    Flex,

    I didn't forget...Why do you think I'm trying for sub 1.2?

I really like the fact that two non-1911 guys are neck and neck...Beretta vs. Glock.

  3. Shot a 1.36 double trouble Saturday, my best ever.

If I'm gonna stay ahead of Flexmoney (1.46) and improve, I'm gonna need to get into the 1.2's.

My current plan is to set a par of 1.15 and try to beat it in dry fire 25 times in a row each night, and then stay as relaxed as possible in the match.

This is how I got to the 1.36, setting the par at 1.3 and beating it consistently, so I think this will work.

BTW, the first shot was .9, so that's where the improvement needs to come from.

    FOR FLEXMONEY ONLY:

Actually,  I plan to suspend all practice activities indefinitely, as this pursuit of excellence is really tiring. Please feel free to do the same.

  4. I felt much more vulnerable in the truck stop parking lot right after 3 cups of coffee and three trips thru the breakfast buffet... (stupid, stupid, stupid)

Not the feeling you want right before a match.

  5. Does that mean that calling shots can hapen subconsciously?

I'm guessing that it can and does...

My thing is that I'm just trying to read the sights and control the trigger on every target, and more so as distance increases.

Just like old shooter, I am aware of misses before I hear them, but maybe not aware or TRUSTING of hits if I don't hear them.

Maybe I'm afraid to trust my perception of the shot.

    (I'm guessing that's it!)

Then again, who has time in a 2.5 - 3 second run to think about anything?

  6. I still believe it's a philosophy thing.

A production shooter has to get more A's and less penalties. Sevigny and Langdon both got hurt pretty bad by penalties on a stage or two.

I know the same can be true for lim 10, but just knowing I get less for Cs and Bs and still get 10 for penalties slows me down a little.

A guy who gets ALL A's and no penalties can run a little slower than a sprayer who gets careless. I believe production makes thius a little more true.

I'm not sure about the triggers being a major factor. The top two double troubles at our last steel match were a Beretta and a Glock. (Flex has FOUND his front sight!)

(And, some idiot with a Beretta and a docter sight managed to beat a REAL 1911 racegun at the same match to win open... )

  7. I personally don't lock the elbows, that's the old isoceles, we do the modern iso.

Leave 'em bent/flexed a little, roughly 45 degrees down.

Put both hands on a wall, right in front of your face and push back. See what your elbows do?

The amount of elbow flex will vary with the speed of the shooting.

  8. I was gonna be the rebel and shoot one eyed weaver, then I decided I'd rather win.

I switched from one eye weaver to both eyes iso at the same time.

It was murder watching temporary performance suffer, but the results are well worth it.

Would rather absorb recoil with one arm or two?

  9. (Brian Enos impersonation mode on)

If the sights were'nt to your liking, why did you take the shot?

    (BEIM off)

If you see what you need to see for the shot required, and call the shot, you can't miss. That means no make -up shots.

    Must be nice huh?

Myself, I still look and listen for hits on hard targets, and call shots on easy targets....But I'm working on it.

I can call my misses, which might mean I'm calling my shots.

    Still working,

  10. I've noticed that turning the electronic ears off during slow fire lowers the pitch of the blast and makes it less obtrusive. Plugs under dead muffs with my comped CZ champion bowling pin gun works best. (192 PF)
