    9mm oal

    Thats the Min oal.
  2. I just bought a Shooting Chrony F1 Master. Ive found that it will occasionally give verry erratic readings. On a 10 sting of 9mm 147 gr 8 of the shots were within about 30fps of each other at the 900 fps mark, I had one shot up at 2700 fps and another 1 below 700fps. Ive shot a couple other strings with similiar erratic readings. Ive got a hard time beliveing that I had a 9mm going that fast without excessive recoil or damage to the pistol. Could this possible be the way Ive got it set up or is the Chrony pehaps having issues? Ive got the Chrony about 10' from the gun.
  3. OK, Ive seen in other threads that alot of guys are loading thier VV recipets to about 1.130"ish seems to be fairly common. Now recently I have been working on a load for 9mm 147 TMJs using N320, 340 and 350, and all the load data Ive been using shows min OALS of 1.142". ( Vihtavuotri and LEE data) So Im wondering what recipets are out there with shorter OALs, or how were the shorter lengths determined? Out of all the different VV loads Ive tried only 1 has been exceptionally accurate at 50yds, so Im wondering if I go to the shorter OALs will my groups tigthen up. The pistol is a SIG X6.
  4. What bullet are you using? And what's the velocity of your load? Speer 147 TMJ Average velocity was 1008...I want to rerun this again, my chrony seemed to be giving the odd eratic reading so I think its worth redoing.
  5. Just noticing that all the OALs given are shorter than the MIN OALs stated in all my data! Vihtavuori and LEE both have the min OALS AS 1.142" for all thier 147gr loads. BTW...I finally got my hands on a lb each of 320,340,350. So far 4.8 gr n350@1.150" is the most accurate to date. 4 shots under an inch @ 50yds of a rest...problem is recoil is excessive enough that I could never shoot a match with it.
  6. Well, I just ordered a pound of 320, 340 and 350. 330 wasnt avaiable.
  7. Im thinking of trying some vv powder for 9mm 147gr speer/mg bullets. I looked at the vv reloading info and it seems that 320 or 330 would be the powder of choice. I shoot PPC so my main concern is accuracy especially at 50 yds. Which of these powders would be the most accurate , or is there perhaps another powder to consider? Im currently using 231,wsf, bullseye.

    Longshot

Ive done a search and alot came up on Longshot but mostly for 115gr bullets it seemed. Does anyone load 147 jacketed with longshot? I shoot PPC and am mainly looking for accuracy @ 50yds.
  9. Im looking for a load for 9mm 147 gr TMJs...Ive got 231, bullseye, wsf. I shoot PPC and am looking for 50yd accuracy and a load that witll cycle a 6" slide! Waddya Got?
