Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I guess that I can, I fired 250 rounds loaded at 1.16 with no malfunctions and fully in battery, but that was with FMJ not JHP. I have an older ('99) CZ75BD. I'll chamber a round and measure for setback today and make sure that's not occurring. My PD 124 JHP's came in yesterday (that was fast), so I'm going to try to work up a couple loads this evening.
  2. Thanks for the data. I have PD 124gr JHP's on order. I tried 5.8 PP , 1.16, 124gr PD Fmj's, the other day, it was the most accurate load I tried with the CZ75, the Glock 19 didn't like it at all, most accurate in the Glock was 4.3gr's BE 1.15, 124 PD fmj, and of course the CZ didn't like that very well. 5.8 -6gr's of PP really lets you know it! Definitely louder, more recoil, I can only imagine what a full 6.6gr charge would be like.
  3. I primarily shoot a G19 and Cz75 and have been reloading for approx a month. I'm going to be adding another G19 or G17 shortly. Anyway, I've reloaded about 1k of PD 124gr FMJ's and accuracy was very good, well I need to reorder bullets and have never tried 147gr in anything, but think I'd like to try it, plus it seems I'd get more mileage out of my powder, but at more of a cost for bullets so maybe that is a mute point. Has anyone with a G19 or CZ75 found good accuracy out of the 147gr compared to 124? And if I do go with 147gr should I go with RN or TC style? Thanks Powders I have on hand are Bullseye, Titegroup, and Power Pistol and Wolf Primers when my CCI supply runs out shortly.
  4. Is this still the case with CCI small pistol primers? I've been using them for about a month now. Not to be dumb, but how will I know if I have breech face cutting? I'd assume it would be a permanent ring?
  5. I started reloading in the last month and appreciate greatly the content of this forum. So far I've reloaded 500 rds, all 9mm on a Hornady LNL using Lee dies with the factory crimp die. So far all 500 rounds have been with Precision Delta 124gr Fmj's over 4.1- 4.4 gr's Bullseye at 1.14- 1.15. Anyway, the LGS finally got some Power Pistol in that I've been wanting to try. On the Alliant website it only lists load data for Speer GDHP at 1.12 for 124gr, would I be safe to assume that I could use the same load data and just change OAL to 1.135- 1.16 for fmj? The only bullets I've used thus far are Precision Delta and Winchester FMJ with exposed lead bases, will plated bullets handle more or less of a charge than exposed lead based fmj? What about plated vs total encapsulated Fmj? Thanks for any help.
