  1. I have read Lyman, Speer and Hornady and no one tells me what to do with the old primers. What do you do with old primers? I am pretty sure that they are not dangerous but it is a random thought? ~k_day64
  2. I have done some more reading and I am convinced that I am going to order the 650. I have been working 70-80hrs/week and I am convinced speed is the most important factor. I have a few more weeks till I order my press. I told my self that I was going to order my press once I received all the required components but I ordered primers from Cabelas and they are on backorder till the end of next month. The single stage press thought is very interesteding. I will keep that in mind. ~k_day64
  3. I have only been in the service for nearly six years (never gone through the navy's rifle course) and I have been shootign right handed, left eyed the entire time. It wasn't untill I purchased my first rifle that I realized I was left eyed. I shoot left handed for rifles. Lever action rifles kick my butt though. Else matters none... to me! ~k_day64
  4. My plan is to shoot; .223, 30-06, .308, 32, 9mm, 40 and 45. The reason I am getting the press is the cost of match grade .308 ammunition is to high these days. If I am going to make my own ammunition for one I am going to do it for all. Odds are I will shoot more .32 then anything else. I am interested in Cowboy Action Shooting. I tried it out a few weeks ago and I still have a twich to do it agian and again. I will only shoot 500 rounds in a month of .308. I have not be come fully obsessed with Cowbow Action Shooting yet, based on investing money in the press and the fact that CT does not allow me to purchase/transport pistols. ~k_day64
  5. Hi all, I am glad this place exists. Thank you BE! It has been almost a year since I purchased my first home and I have completed only a few small projects. The one that I am most impressed with is my new work bench. It is a 3x8' table that is rugged as rugged can be! The work bench creation resulted in me renovating the entire workshop. I have ripped down old shelves and put up new ones. Added some peg board to the walls and replaced some old insulation. The only task left is to put up some extra lights. I am starting from scratch and I have purchased Speer's Reloading #14, The ABC'S of Reloading, Hornady's Reloading and Lymans 49th. All of them agree preparation is the most important part. The workspace needs to be neat, clean and in a well lit enviroment. Since my fiancee will not let me reload in the dinning room I need to add lights to the workshop. (I didn't even ask her, I just know that it is not worth the discussion. It would end in "yes, dear".) I have ordered and back ordered 1000 bullets of 9mm - 123gn and 3.08 - 167gn BTHPs and 500 brass, plus primers. I am waiting on the powder because I need to find time to build a storage box and I need to find out what powders to purchase. (Most componets are still on a 3 weeks of backorder.) In the last month I have joined the NRA and applied to the local sportsmen club and I am loving it. I have been calling and pestering my state congressmen making it very clear that they can not take my guns and can not take my bullets! Nothing bothers me more then politics. I serve in the silent service and when I pull into foriegn ports I am issued a fire arm and live ammo and told to defend. But when I come home I am told I have to wait eight weeks for a background check. (Frustrating... and I go off topic!) I have also waited to order my reloader. I am still torn between the 550 and 650 and I am not sure why? I think it is because I love gadgets!!! The thought of getting a bullet feeder and case feeder for the 650 is like WOW! (Yes it would be 1000% over kill but I love gagdets!!!) I have ordered a scale, calibers, flip tray and some other gear but the press is still with Dillon. Once I get my batteries charged I will post some photos of the work shop pre-press. Below are the links to the kits I used. ~k_day64 Work bench bought at Target.com Selflinks bought at Target.com (also offered in sand color) "A black hole is a place where God divides by zero."
  6. Reading this warmed my dark and scarred soul.
