  1. I'm extremely sorry for recommending the pro mags if they're not working. Please let me know and I'll do all I can to help you guys get them running 100%. TT

That's awesome TT, thanks. I just sent a Caspian frame and some Promag tubes to Matt M, so I may take you up on that...

  2. A square target is the best for Iron sight. Like the old Gun-Site sight in target. 10' sqare in black w/ the center 6" square in white. These also work vey well for optics, but for Iron they are the best! KURTM

Thanks Kurt! Where exactly are you holding/aiming with this type of target?

What is a reasonable expectation for group size with irons if it shoots 3/4 inch with a scope??

  3. Kirk,

I have some RS Comp loaded in 180 and 200's. I really like Comp - it's quiet, very clean, and the gun doesn't seem as "jumpy" as with 320. I need some more trigger time with it, but for now I actually like it better that TG and 320.

Let me know if you want to meet at Ike's or Continental to try some.

    Scott

  4. Eric,

That's what I'm going to do as well. I want to rebarrel, recomp (Benny Hill), and put a FF tube on my Bushmaster.

Who is the best source for a light 18 or 20 inch barrel? I couldn't find anything obvious on the DPMS website, and I'm trying to find a less costly alternative to the JP barrels.

  5. How hard is it to build an AR upper? It seems like it is more of an assembly issue than a building/fitting/customizing one.

Are there any little nuances involved, or it is really as simple as torquing in a barrel, getting the gas ports lined up, and putting on a hand guard?

  6. I don't know jack about bolt carriers, but I was able to install a CM trigger group in about 5 minutes. It took me longer to remove the grip and safety than it did to install the trigger!

Pull went from off the scale on my RCBS trigger scale to a consistent 3 lbs. Why can't someone make one of these for 1911's??

  7. Well, you have to assume that they were pressure tested, it is Sierra after all, and I don't think they would publish data haphazardly (in spite of the recall of the 300 ultra mag data).

The test gun used was a Para, so there is certainly nothing unusual there.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Is our concern over Clay's pressure unfounded?
