  1. Yes it must be a heavy RM because it does have some orange paint residue. Also I am shooting 180gr MG JHP how often do you clean your barrel and what do you use. I use Barrett Big Bore cleaner in my rifles and that will remove copper fouling but not sure about brass fouling. Is there a good cleaner for brass fouling or does the copper solvents work equally as well for brass jacketed bullets?

  2. I have a new Executive that I had Dawson do the enhancement package on. I absolutely LOVE the gun and it shoots Extremely accurate. I was just seeing how many people will change springs to better fit their shooting technique. I have the Recoil Master guide rod in the gun and have no idea what # sping it is. It would be the factory setup I would assume unless Dawson would have changed it out. Can anyone tell me what # spring I have and what other # springs would you try? Also where can a get some and what is the going price?

#2. What would be some good spare parts to have. I am planning on shooting in the Mississippi Classic and would like to get a few "good to haves" incase I run into some trouble.

  3. Well I am new to USPSA and will probably be in C class once I get enought classifers. My goal is to get into A class and then evaluate from there.

My second goal is this. A good friend and a really good shooter told me at my last match "now that you have that new gun you are going to have to buy an STI shit to wear at the matches." My reply was and this is goal #2 "I want to get so good that they send me a shirt."

So I guess some will laugh at that but my wife told me the other day. "Baby shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars." So STI I am waiting :roflol: .

  4. Hi Guys,

Sorry for the long wait on the Hotel info. We have a block of rooms booked in the Holiday Inn Express in Byram MS. The rooms are $80/night and are booked under the block name "Mississippi Shooting Classic". You can reach the front desk directly by calling (601) 346-8118.

I've been holding off on announcing it because the woman I've been working with has been trying to set us up with a special online booking code. That part still isn't ready yet, but they've only been open for three days now so I guess it's understandable that they have some kinks to work out. I think the match is far enough out that they should have those bugs worked out by the time you guys show up. If you DO have any problems getting booked, ask to speak to Emily or let me know.

The dining opportunities are a little limited in the Byram area, but there are a few good ones as MrClean described and there are plenty more once you get up into Jackson which is only about ten minutes north. Having a quality hotel so close to the range should make it super convenient for competitors going back and forth and I'm really excited about it.

    John

Any word on the online code?

  5. Put a round in each station when you are adjusting the seating die. You will get vaired OAL loading one round at a time versus a round in every station. Also continued throws will bell the case "extra". That is why I will put a case still w/ a spent primer in that station to check the charge. Once the charge is right you want to run that case through the sizing die in station 1 so that you do not have any setback issues with that round due to over belling. Also on your stroke you want nice steady consistant pressure. Do not press the handle like a mad man the more consistant you are the more consistant the rounds will be.
