Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I just recieved the pistol. One word: Awesome! It is fit so tight it barely cycles (gotta be broken in). Every little detail is perfect. Can't wait to test this baby out on the range tonight! A barrel accuracy test showing 1.60 inches 5 shot group (all touching same hole) at 50 yard range. Is this just the barrel or the gun? If just the barrel, why don't they test the gun? B
  2. I have now sold my Open blaster and ordered a brand new SVI Infinity Sight Tracker .40S&W for standard class. Awaiting delivery with great anticipation I ordered the non AET version, I have heard AET barrels are more choosy of bullets and I intend to use cheap bullets. Anyone have experience with the sight tracker setup? Regards, Bernt
  3. http://www.rapidreticle.com/ A norwegian gun dealer (Flemming) has 4 of these in stock and says they are more solid than docter. Anyone have any experiences?
  4. I just measured the height of the rear end of the slide (where it has been lightened). 19.34 mm By the way. grams site is not accessible (anyone have his email)
  5. I am now considering getting a bulletproofed Docter (3rd gen) to mount on my open blaster (Limcat/SVI). The rear of the slide has been flattened (there is a little bit of bend left before it reaches the flat sides of the slides). I wonder if it is viable to mount the docter in spite of the flattened rear of the slide. (can try to post a picture of gun if neccesary). Bernt
  6. A local gunsmith proposed to mount the Docter scope (frame mount) just in front of the chamber. The sight would then ride on the middle of the gun. This viable?
  7. Gun: Caliber: 38 super comp Sti slide Svi frame Black hole magwell Limcat turbo compensator Limcat hi-tech bull barrel .355 Limcat internal components Aftec extractor SVI straight trigger All chrome coating And until now an aimpoint comp xt on a weigland aluminum mount. I used to have a holosight on the frame so it was drilled for that. Weigland mount blank drilled for same four hole pattern. http://www.jackweigand.com/sm3.html It has always bothered me that the mount placed the aimpoint unneccesarily high from bore axis. Now I want something mounted flat. The rear of the slide has been flattened. Questions: -Docter sight slide mount: Will the flattened rear slide be a problem? -Frame mounted Docter a good option? -What other sights/mounts could be reccomended? -There is some side play in the trigger (it isn't completely tight). Does this come from frame-plastic wear, hence new grip assembly solves the problem? Regards Bernt
  8. The mechanism is gas retarded blowback if I am not mistaken.
  9. I have been playing with an interesting (if not very competitive idea). I am thinking about buying a p7m13 with a threaded barrel and mounting a short, effective comp on it. I have also been wondering if I could mount a small scope (i.e docter) preferably on the frame (as the barrel is fixed on the frame). It is gas operated however, and I do not know how using a compensater would effect cycling. A gunsmith told me it would, but to me it sounds illogical as the compensator only affects exess gas which would normally be expelled from the barrel (i can see point with barrel porting however). I am also thinking about having the internals of the P7 polished and the grip safety made a bit lighter. Anyone know anyone who have done some customizing on p7s? Compensating etc...
  10. And btw, I have pictures of it, but dont know how to post pictures here, anyone able to help me with that?
  11. I have a limcat tiger top end on an SVI frame. No ports in the barrel, just the turbo comp. The gun is heavy. Full 5 inch slide and only lightened rear, but shoots very very flat. Functions flawlessly. Posted about problems of it being a bit front heavy and of the aimpoint comp sitting a bit high in another thread but got no reply. With the new 165 PF, I would not reccomend the big turbo comp, nor barrel porting, but then again a little dot jump never bothered me much. Anyone else feel the tiger is a bit front heavy? especially on a 5 inch slide? I may conrary to my own advice be convinced to drill holes in the slide/barrel, and have been thinking a lot of lightening the slide and comp lately (it is chromed though, and i dont know if thats a problem).
