I use the thumbs pointing forward toward the target grip. So my left thumb is over my support hand thumb (i'm a southpaw). I feel like I need to work on my grip as I find I someitmes jerk the gun to the right. I'm thinking of changing the backstrap on my XDM to the next larger size. Anyone have any advice?

I've got an XDM .40 that I was thinking of shooting in Limited. Wanted to know if this would help with muzzle flip/recoil as I have small hands.

I'm looking to start shooting IPSC/IDPA and was wondering, do you have to be a member before shooting your first match? Some of the local clubs by me state that non-members can participate.
