My 625 gets a little sticky during a match. Do you folks clean with a brush between stages?
-
I really enjoy my Carmonized 625, but it has a 5 inch barrel and I am thinking of something a little shorter to carry. Maybe I can find something to carry and use in IDPA.

The Taurus is one of the guns I am considering. I have heard of a couple of Ka-booms from them, but not sure of the circumstances. Rattlesnakes are pretty plentiful and frequently seen down here.

We do have the cottonmouths and they can be aggressive. I am more concerned about my pets and grandkids than myself and plan to kill any of the bad snakes that I see close to the place. I noticed the thread talking about the inexpensive Model 64's. That seems like a nice little gun that might work.

and have seen a few of the bad snakes along my road. I want a revolver that I can load with some snake shot. It needs to be small enough to carry comfortably all day. Any suggestions?

I live in LA, but am just a plinker. I sent you a PM to connect you with one of the good revovler guys down here.

Thanks. Maybe next year there will be two of us shooting. She is a country girl and likes to shoot.

Maybe next year for this new revolver shooter.

I am new to re-loading and have a Dillon 650 set-up for 45 ACP. Things are going pretty well and I am learning every time I use it, but I wonder if I might want a single stage press also. I think sometimes I would like to take it slow and just knock out a few rounds to play with. What is a nice simple press that I could add to my bench?

I have a 650 and had 5 or 6 rounds come out of the press with upside down primers. How should I dispose of these rounds? Thanks

SHHHHH! Don't tell folks about the good things we have on the way down to our great beach. We want to keep it all a secret. I will try to figure out a way to keep the shake frozen for the trip.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate all the replies.

Just wondering how you revolver folks shoot the Texas Star? I know you start at the top, but what sequence do you shoot after that? Thanks
Mike
PS I did do a search and found some good information, but would still like to hear folks opinions.

Happy Birthday and thanks again for a great 625.

Congratulations on the new experiences. I shot my first revolver match a few weeks ago and it was also my first time shooting USPSA. Luckily I had some help from a more experienced revolver shooter and he helped me map out my strategy. (My basic strategey was to be safe and have fun. I was able to do both) I plan to keep shooting revolver and also take a stab at Production with my Glock 34. This is a great game!!

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

My sister bought a Ruger Single Six and another old gun at a moving sale today. I am hoping someone can help identify the old gun. It is a 22 with an 8 shot removeable cyclinder. There is a serial number on the bottom of the trigger guard. It starts with the letter N and then 5 numbers. Their are no visible markings on the barrel. Their are some faint markings. One line starts with a couple of unreadable letters and finishes with "J Target SEALED 8". A second line has some faint marks and finishes with A&C WKS and the bottom line says FITCHBURG, MASS. USA.
The gun has wooden grips with a double diamond design eteched in the wood. There is checkering inside the double diamond. Thanks for any help on this old gun.

Welcome from another new Alabama shooter. The things folks said in the above posts are true. I have a nice revolver and limited gun that I am planning to concentrate on for at least this year. But those other thoughts creep in. Things like, " Man, those open guns sure look like fun". Gotta be strong. Enjoy your new found obsession.

Picture quality looks fine to me...Oh..You meant the gun..

Thanks everyone. I am leaning toward shooting Production. Shoot, after shooting revolver, ten in the gun will seem pretty nice!!

Hello: I shot my first match a couple of weeks ago with my 625. The revolver shooting is fun and I plan to continue but I wanted to shoot the next match with my Glock 34. Should I shoot Production or Limited minor? I have plenty of 17 round magazines to use in limited. Both would be scored minor so that is not really a factor. What do you suggest?

Just for us new guys, what are the different versions of the 627 out there and are there any versions that should be avoided?

Oh, I get it now. You folks thought I joined THAT AARP. What I joined was the Alabama Association of Revolver People.
