  1. big plus one to the above

Also I’ve learned never to reuse the screws, if you remove them, toss them and fit up new ones

If you reuse the screws there a good chance the next time you remove them one of them will round, then it’s screw extractor time on a tiny screw

That's Optics Planet. I took a chance and ordered a green one, great price and I'm not in a hurry. Fingers crossed.

I hear you about optic planet, my experience with dvor has been mostly positive, their prices are not that great,  it every so often they do have a great sale

I already received a shipping notice and should have it tomorrow

  3. I would get the basic conversion kit, minus the powder measure and any other parts you might already have

if you already load 45acp, you have the shell plate

if you’re like me and have dedicated powder measures for your pistol calibers, you have the rifle powder bar sitting in a drawer, I have those set for my rifle loads and swap out the powder bar from my pistol powder measure, fine tune and load

I ordered a slide from Atlas, a barrel from KKM and a Caspin receiver to build one.  I own a Springfield Prodigy and want to build competition gun.   Maintenance on my Prodigy is easier than my CZ Shadow that I used to own.

Question on the caspian frame, SS or wide body

last I check caspian didn’t show the high cap frames or parts on their website

  5. I’m running a Romero 3max and so far so good, no problems with it

I also have a couple of V4 rts 2s, the Romero is drastically brighter and the larger window size makes it easier to pick up the dot during SH/WH

the holosun 507 competition looks to be a contender but their too new know for sure

  6. I finally received mine and installed it in a QC10 colt lower, after reading all the comments on AR15 on how hard it is to rack, I picked up a Techwell tac latch L which allows me to grip it with 4 fingers.

    https://techwellusa.com/advanced-ambi-arc-l-charging-handle-for-ar-platform-223.html

my initial install I simply pushed it in and used the buffer detent to hold it and I couldn’t close the upper, it would almost close and I ended up forcing it shut.

Racking it was easy and I realized I had bypassed the rollers by forcing it shut

i removed the detent and back the tube out 1 turn and closed the upper without any issues

racking it went from easy to omg, the unit was shipped bone dry and I put slideglide lite on the roller lock area which made it easier to rack

testing was done at 10 yards on a NRA B-8c repair center with my 115 gn, 135 PF PCC loads which are subminor out of a pistol, the 1 st mag was loaded with 4 rounds to test function and to see if it would lock back, the gun functioned and locked back and the saw the dot never left the black on the target. Next loaded a 42 round mag and did a series 2 shot as fast as I could pull the trigger and not waiting for the dot to settle, again the dot didn’t leave the black and except for a few flyers all the shots were in the black and the majority were within the 10 ring

i also tested with my regular production/SS/co ammo doing the same drill and noticed a bit more dot movement with the dot moving the the outer edge of the black

    So far I’m liking it

I'm still waiting on mine to arrive.  I ordered 6/24 and sent an email for an update exactly 1 month ago on 8/11.  I did get a return phone call rather than an email.  I don't remember the specifics but they are "working on it".

    Ditto

i ordered mine on 06-18, also sent a email a month ago and got the call and he said they should get their next batch in about 10 days, he further offered cancel my order without the restocking penalty which I declined mainly because our range is being used by the EPA as a hazmat staging area from the Lahaina fire and it’ll be months before it reopens

  8. Old doesn’t necessarily mean obsolete

I’m still using my MK IV, replaced the sky screens a couple of years ago

i think the real reason is there are newer cheaper units like the competition electronics pro chronograph or newer technology like the labradar and magnetospeed
