Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Many times when I was spotting during a IHMSA metallic silhouette match, I could see the bullets arc out and dive down into the 200 meter rams. I was using 10x40 binoculars on a microphone stand and the loads were far from slow. I'm talking .308 and 7 IHMSA unlimited guns...Lighting conditions have to be just right.
  2. just received 5000 Federal SP magnum primers from Grafs.
  3. All Dillon...Carbide in 9mm and 223
  4. I loaded 4.6 gr UC with a Zero 125 gr HP, Fed 100 primers and it averaged 1030 fps with ES of 17. Very accurate out of my STI 9mm Stinger with a C-More. PF was 128,750 and my 20 yard group from a rest was 1.23" for 5 shots, with 4 in .563". Seemed a little smokey.... BTW, the OAL was 1.163
  5. I'm afraid the above gunsmithing suggestions are beyond me...Hopefully, I can find a gunsmith that can do it.
  6. Just installed the Cylinder & Slide parts in my STI and got a great trigger pull of just a hair under 3# and very crisp. Lo and behold, the gun will fire (if loaded) with the safety on.... Now what? Any ideas where I can send it and get it back soon?
  7. I chronographed some of the 124 grainers today and they averaged 1,354 thru the AR15 for a PF of 167,896. Not quite Major 9 even in an 18" barrel. Some 115 gr Zeros with the same 5.4 load went 1,380 in the AR for a PF of 158,700 Suspect the 124s would make a PF around 160,000 in my 3.9" barreled STI Stinger but I won't risk it.
  8. Just converted my 650 back to 9X19 from 223 and for some dumb ass reason set the powder measure for 5.4 gr Bullseye instead of 4.7 with the 124 gr Zero bullet. I loaded about 250 before my brain clicked back on.....Think I can shoot these OK in my Bushy 9mm AR-15? I know they will be too hot for my STI Stinger. What say you?
