  1. Do you want to sell the vtac sights?
  2. Barrel, slide, barrel link I dont know what else.
  3. Exactly... Glad somebody stepped up and took care of your gun. Congrats! I am not trying to start a debate, but when I sent the gun to STI they said no way it is an ammo problem call PMC. I asked them to send the barrel out to be rockwell hardness tested. I didnt hear back from them for weeks, I called them to ask them to send me my parts back and they said they decided to fix the gun. Maybe the Barrel was bad and that is why they changed there mind and it wasn't an ammo problem. Either way I don't care I am just happy that the gun is fixed. I am very happy with both companies STI fixed the gun and PMC replaced the rest of my ammo. Ben
  4. Well I called STI on tuesday to have them ship me what is left of my gun. They told me it was almost done being rebuilt. He didn't go into why they changed there mind or anything, he just said it will be all set when I get it back. So that makes me happy that they did this Ben
  5. What safties are those? they are King's safties
  6. I bought the ammo last year maybe 1.5 years ago. I talked to PMC and the guy who has to handle this was out of the country until may 31. I still have not heard from him. and i have heard nothing new from STI talked to pmc the other day they will swap out the remainder of the ammo I have left 500rds. And they told me to send them a quote from my gunsmith to repair the gun. That's unusual that they didn't want a contact name at STI. I've had this happen to two customers with Wolf ammo and a Glock and Federal ammo and a Glock. In the case of the Wolf ammo it was a squib round stuck in the barrel and then the next round fired into that. I sent the guns to Glock and they waited on word from the ammo manufacturers. In both cases I sent a copy of the original receipt along with the reminder of the 50 round box that the hot/squib rounds came from. In both cases they paid for the guns to be repaired at and by the manufacturer. I would not have a third party gunsmith, qualified or otherwise, repair a gun damaged in this manner. What about the factory warranty or factory specs? I would insist that PMC pay to have it repaired at STI. Nobody at STI will work with you on this? In my examples, Glock replaced the entire slide and barrels in both guns. No questions asked. Pmc gave me 2 options have a gunsmith make a quote for them. or send the gun to PMC and they would put together a quote on repair. I have to call STI because they still have my gun

  9. Obviously nobody including STI has to believe me that I was using factory ammo. If I was reloading and I screwed up I would never post this or send the gun back to STI, I would be to embarrassed. PMC emailed me yesterday the forms that I need to fill out for them. So we will see were that ends up. Between my friends that I shoot with and myself we probably own 2 dozen STI's. Honestly if STI said we think it is an ammo problem we are not going to cover it, but we could give you a really good deal on the fix I would have told them to just fix it.
  10. they are suppose to be sending part of the barrel out to be tested. I left a message with PMC for haha's. my smith here who i trust whole heartedly offered me the parts to fix the gun at cost and he would fit for free. either way I am still pissed about the whole situation. It would be 1 thing if i did something wrong like a double charge, but it was factory ammo. I mean anything could happen it is just discouraging you think because you buy factory ammo there should be no problem.
  11. I talked to STI today they recommend I call PMC as this was an ammo issue and will not be covered under warranty. Cant wait to talk to PMC, I already have a feeling how that will go. anybody have a barrel and slide for sale?
  12. I talked to STI today and sending the gun back to them to see what they say. I had my smith look at before we shipped it, he thinks the barrel was hardened to much making it brittle. It probally wouldn't be a bad idea to send the barrel out to be tested by a private party. we will see what they say.
  13. this gun is a .40. I would think it was a hot charge, but it felt exactly the same as the rest of the rounds. I bought 2000 rounds of this ammo, I have run 1500 of them through the gun with never a problem. Hopefully they can do something for me. the slide is cracked were it is bowed out.
  14. I couldnt find the rest of the case at the range. but the rear of the shell is still in the gun. all that is left is the rim and primer. the gun is still all locked up i didnt want to take it apart, before STI or a gunsmith looked at it.
  15. yes the 25th def left the barrel. there is no marks inside the barrel or swell spots in the barrel.
  16. yes I have the rest of the box of ammo here. it was 180gr pmc bronze. Luckily I wasn't hurt I had a couple pieces of the barrel hit me in the face but nothing major. hopefully they can help me out.
  17. Went to the range today to do a few drills, and the 26th shot barrel blew up. does any one now if there is any kind of warranty through STI. This was with PMC factory ammo not reloads. the gun maybe had 1000 rounds through the gun. It bowed and cracked the slide also.
  18. this is what i loaded so far. 9MM 124gr jhp 4.0 gr tightgroup 1.165 oal avg 1100 fps 136 pf 45acp 230gr jhp 4.0 clays 1.230 oal avg 730 fps 168 pf .40 180gr jhp 4.1 tightgroup 1.2 oal havent chrono'd these yet. the 9mm felt good. but the 45 for some reason weren't as soft as i thought they would be. Ben
  19. Is N320 really that much better of a powder or are people using it just because thats what everyone is using? i loaded some 45 at 168pf with clays and it still felt like factory with quite a bit of kick. i guess i had to high of expectations of i just have terrable form. i see guys shooting single stack 45 and ther gun never moves. the only think i can think of is they are loading softer than major or i am just not using proper technique. the 9mm with tightgroup was nice and soft i liked that load. havent had a chance to try the 40 with tight group yet. i loaded some up just not a chance to shoot thanks Ben
  20. I found locally some vv 3n37 fairly cheap. Does any one have any experience with this powder. Is it any good for any of these. 9mm minor 40 minor 40 major 45 major thanks Ben they also have N165 N150 N540
  21. thanks guys. I was just looking for more convinence of only having to find 1 powder. locally all i can find for powder usually is tightgroup clays wst . they seem to be the easiest to find. I load on dillon square deal b the guns are 9mm is springfield 1911 40 is STI eagle 45 is custom 1911 thanks Ben
  22. i just started reloading and this is what i am using right now. 9mm 124gr mg jhp tightgroup 40 180 gr mg jhp tightgroup 45 230 gr zero jhp clays
  23. I am wondering if anyone can recomend 1 powder that works well in 9mm 40 and 45. i shoot IDPA & USPSA. thanks Ben
  24. when he is out of stock on an item he takes it off his site. well i bought 500 of the 124 gr jhp for $48 and i a going to try them out. all his prices on there are including shipping. Just FYI, but both the MG and PD prices I mentioned included shipping as well. Yikes, that's $96/K for 124gr JHPs...you can buy them direct from MG for much less than that. R, well i wanted to try them out because i can buy small quanities of them. I understand the montana golds are cheaper if you buy them by the case but i dont want to shell out all that money at once just yet.
