Trying to ream a friend's barrel. Its an SV barrel 5 port ribbed no hole in 9mm 5.4". Trying to ream it for 38sc. However, the reamer won't go through. It's so tight. Is this normal? If i push it will it damage the barrel? Thanks.

I think you might have double alpha mixed up with double tap. Afaik daa don't make any safeties.
I haven't tried the double tap but I've heard its good. I've tried a Swenson. It's cheap for a reason.... They are not up to the quality of a egw or sv etc. the Swenson I had also took more fitting. I've heard a local smith whose fitted a few say he no longer does them as the extra fitting time is such a hassle. For shielded I switched to the Phoenix trinity shielded safety. It's top quality. Nicely made. My only gripe is it comes in a rough bead blast type finish so needs some decent polishing or finishing (if coating it).
I'd buy the pt with confidence and word is the dt is good too.
sorry. you are right. it's double tap. Thanks

Any thoughts on the Double tap ambi safety? Is it similar to swenson"s paddle? Thanks in advance.

That's also my concern with sv having the short hood. I guess with a good gunsmith it shouldn't be a problem.
Schuemann sells both a conventionally rifled hybrid and an AET.
To my knowledge SV reserves their AET barrels exclusively for in house builds.
The rear of the rib is a different shape between the two makers, so the slide cut will need to match it. I've had some feedback that the SV barrels tend to have a short hood which could lead to an inability to achieve proper fit, but that will depend on the dimensions of the slide you use and the barrel.
As far as selling a 5", threaded, no holes barrel- I haven't had any luck tracking down a Schuemann and again, SV seems to reserve that particular barrel for in house builds.
If you are looking for a threaded 5.4" barrel, for use with a 5" slide, those seem to be available from SV. -
yeah that's for the 4 port no holes. looking to get the 5 port no holes. Thanks.
Speed shooters international has Schuemann hybrid with or with out holes.

I was wondering if there's any difference on svi hybrid vs schuemann hybrid barrel. I was looking at a 5" ribbed no holes threaded barrel. I can't seem to find any in stock for a schuemann but sv has it. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried it without tuning the mags?

SVIs are guns of its own. I have shot a few open pistols from different smiths/builders but I always go back to my SVI. Nothing can compare its craftsmanship, details, quality of a custom build and not to mention the great customer service. If I have the money in the world, all my guns would be SVI from carry to competition. Partial much?
Thanks. I have heard that quite a lot from people that own sv. But, what make it so different from other gun. I know it has it's own character. Does it shoot more pleasant than other pistol?

They're both great guns. Bobby and Matt stand behind their build. The only difference from what I know is the weight of the slide.

I just confirmed with red hill tactical that they can make one for the safariland uspsa kit.
-
Thanks Eric. Found your answer on another thread. Thanks buddy. I'm actually asking red hill tactical if they can make a holster to fit the holes for the uspsa kit.

Mod please close. Found the answer

Does anybody know if the safariland USPSA kit will work or fit the bladetech holster? Thanks in advance.

I test fired my new accu shadow black this weekend. It run perfect with freedom munition ammo 1.14 aol 147gr. The problem I had when it won't chamber was the magazine. The original cz mags was the problem. It ran perfect with the megcar. Thanks.
P.S love the gun. Trigger is just perfect. Thanks Stuart!

Thanks guys. I did mine this weekend and still not a perfect fit. Will keep trying. Thanks.
-
Thanks. I'll give that a try.

I just got mine and the ammo I bought from freedom munition with oal of 1.14 is not clambering. This is a RN bullet 147gr

I bought an accu shadow with extended barrel or Aussie barrel but it doesn't fit my blade tech. Anyone ever tried to heat gun the holster to make it fit? Also, how should I go by in doing it right. Thanks.
-
Bladetech with a springer precision hanger or boss hanger. I only have the springer hanger and it's great. A lot of people here use boss hanger which has a very good feedback.

Local gun store has 4 stock 3 in 9mm coming in for 1200 shipped each.

Check out ckarms.com or talk to bobby keigan of freedom gunworks. For parts it's best to ask the gunsmith that will build your pistol as there are some parts that may not work for them while building your custom guns. For 9 major for sure you will need an Aftec extractor to run reliably and also get an SVI old style magazine.

Need help on holster for a single stack built on a rangemaster frame short dust. Should I get the one for a sti eagle or the regular 1911 holster from blade tech will work? Thanks.
-
Thank you guys. It seems like the egw mag catch is pushing the magazine higher therefore hitting the ejector.
