  1. Chris, Lmk how they turn out. For the price, I may want to get a couple myself & give it a shot. Len
  2. Brian, With 4 matches behind me using the WC mags (47D), no problems yet, except I may want to invest in the 47DE mags since I had a few instances where I did not seat my mag in properly & maybe with an extended base plate it will alleviate the problem. Thanks for the info. Len You don't need to buy new mags just get the base pads. You may have to do some trimming to fit in the box depending on who made it and how high your rear sight is. Thanks for the info. Would be cheaper to buy base pads instead of new mags. Rear sight still the same on my Kimber TLE. Len
  3. Welcome to the forum Whether you read, watch or observe, shoot a match with the intent of having fun. After you've shot a couple, your persona changes and now your comfortable, your excited, your in the zone, your addicted, you've felt the rush. If not, you're just having fun... Good Luck! Len

  5. I have a pair & they work great! IMO, hearing protection should not be compromised "double up for safety".
  6. I've never heard it said any better than that. I like it. Welcome to the forum Jack! Observe, join & shoot! Not necessarily in that order.... Len
  7. 03k64- Understood! Hopefully the custom made will work out for ya. Len
  8. I have the EP3s and the EP4s and they work very well and would recommend them. My problem is that one ear canal is bigger than the other so I always have problems with the one in the right ear not fitting properly. That's why I'm having custom plugs made. Do you think they are enough to use alone, or would I still need to double up on them? When I was at the doctors years ago, he mentioned I lost a substantial amount of hearing on my left ear. I think it's a combination of years of shooting and cars (through the window). My biggest concern now is any further loss.... I've been wearing plugs for my motorcycle because I noticed them ringing after a few spirited runs.... better start protecting them while they still work! Jerry! Nothing wrong with doubling up, again this is an individual preference & hearing should not be compromised. Len Jerry
  9. I have the EP3s and the EP4s and they work very well and would recommend them. My problem is that one ear canal is bigger than the other so I always have problems with the one in the right ear not fitting properly. That's why I'm having custom plugs made. Were both sets medium? 1 set med & 1 set large could have done it but it's all academic now. Hopefully the custome made one works out for ya.
  10. Jerry! If you don't have a problem wearing ear plugs, you might want to try Ear Pro Sonic Defenders by "Surefire". Check it out! Visit My Website Len
  11. Might want to try this site for "once fired brass" in a .45 acp. Visit My Website
  12. Touche HoMiE! FYI, you know Butch199 you could also add a magwell & still be within the weight limitation.
  13. Thanks for the info. I was kinda hoping to use the 10mm as is & not shell out any money to customize. Len
  14. Thanks for the insight guys. Guess I'll just stick to my 1911 for now. Len
  15. Hello Everyone! Currently, I'm shooting a 1911 in a SS division, however, i just recently picked up my Glock 20C & curious if anyone on this forum shoots a 10mm for competition. I don't hear or read about 10mm shot in competition or if it's even allowed. If allowed, what division would it fall under? Len
  16. Judging by the comments made on this topic it would seem to me that the there is nothing wrong with WCM & the meaning "the follower wears out quickly" could be a manufacturer defect or lemon if you will on that particular follower. I believe in time parts do wear out & need to be replaced but not before it was put to good use. Shot USPSA this past weekend using my new CM mags without a hitch. So for now, I'm pretty satisfied with both. Hopefully this will clear things up Al. Len
  17. Congrats Jenks! You're feeling the same way I felt last month on my first USPSA Shoot. I'll be shooting my 2d tomorrow. Len
  18. Do a search of the forums on this subject as it has been discussed many times. I tried both and settled on Wilson. I have changed springs on Wilson but still use the same old followers. If they are "worn" it does not seem to matter. As for the chips, the metal follower can rock forward when the last round is stripped off, keeping the mag from dropping free. That did not happen often but even once is a match is way too many times. Later, Chuck Thanks Chuck! Think I stick with my Wilson's. Len
  19. Seems there are plus & minuses regarding the use of Wilson Mags & Chip Mags. I have Wilson mags which I used last month in my local USPSA shoot & was very happy with the results. I was then told days later that the plastic follower on the Wilson Mag will wear out quicker than the follow in the Chip mag since that is metal but then I'm reading that the metal follower jams on the last round. Anyone with any insight on this, otherwise, I would stick to what works right now. Len
  20. Hello Everyone! My name is Len & although a newbie to the forum, not so as a shooter. In fact, just joined a local USPSA club a month ago (Solano Target Masters) in Northern California, SS Kimber TLE II, & found it to be a little more of a challenge then that of just target shooting at a local shooting gallery where I used to work. Only wish I had done this a long time ago. Challenging & lots of fun!!! SSDK1911
