I cant see how the gun couldent handle 9mm +p+ it hadles 10mm with a sami presure of 37,500 psi. so smaller case = stronger barrel and smaller case at lower presure = no problem

I have a 1omm match that I use for limited division and had the same problem with it firing brass into the next county I shortened the extractor about 1/8" and it helped a little then I installed a 40sw barrel for the cheap brass and the gun now ejects only about 6ft with the same powerfactor loads. I think it hase to do with the length of the 10mm brass picking up more energy as it is swinging out of the extractor.

anybody ever use one of the lone wolf comps? they have huge side cuts and only 3 holes on top so I wonder if they controll flip well" the lone wolf 6" barrel has 4 big "C" shaped holes in the top that should controll muzzle rise well enough

I have thought about 38 super as I have 2 others (a 1911 for single stack and a witness I use for production) the rounds fit and feed out of the mags well by hand but getting a barrel turns into a custom job and the cosdt go's up
I was thinking build on the cheep see if I like then build a competative rig if I get hooked also my g20 is a first gen so no rail. has anybody ever seen a 170mm extension for a large frame glock? with the 140's I get 21 reloadable easy I think I can mod the follower and maby get 22.

thanks for the input so far
I am not trying to build a competetive rig just a blaster to have fun with and try out the whole open gun idea

I am thinking about building a open gun on the cheap.
G20 I allready have gun and 140mm 21rd mags $0
lone wolf 4 port 6" barrel $130
aimtech scope base $58
tasco propoint 30mm 10moa dot $90
total investment $278
other option
use lonewolf threded barrel $115 and compensator(odd looking one) $55
total investment $318
what do you guys think?

I second calling RCBS they will send you a new one asap. as a quick fix I just put a piece of tape across the bottom ob the plastic tabs to hold them tighter to the metal part. the other problem I have had is primers turning sidways in th plastic part and jamming things up making burrs in the plastic. I fixed this by drilling out the plasic part and inserting a short section of a old primer tube. now the primers slide through nicely.

for low power 10mm try some trail boss under lead bullets I just ran a batch at 4.2 grains under a 180 lead cronoed at 750 fps. it was the cleanest least smoke lead load I have ever shot. the powder is to bulky to get enough in the case to make a major load but for minor I dont think it can be beat.

thanks for the info I think I will have to try ordering

I am interested in converting my old 38 super to a open gun and was wondering if anyone used the compped barrels from EAA ?
is it a drop in set up or is fitting required by a smith? if it is a drop in set up $229 seams like a good deal
any info would be great

oops I thought he said 36,500 psi not 38,500 but I still say no problem compared to a 10mm
