I have my 550b (from be) mounted direct to the bench and the bench top is 41" high. works great for me standing 6'0". Youv'e got to love any Dillon. My 550b is my fail safe press even over my 650 &1050. Old John

Top notch,
I set off primers could not reset the shell plate correctly and sent it to Dillon. I just received it back this week and it looks new and all moving and friction parts are new plus a 650 shipping box. I love those guys. Does anyone else make presses anyway!! Thanks for being there for us Mike Dillon. Old John

I have been offered a rl1050 that looks as if it has less than 1000 rounds through it. Yes it's as new! What would be a fair price. It's set up with the correct dies for me. Thanks, Old John

I had the same problem and dillon sent a new powder bar asssmbly. Problem solved. I now clean the assembly every 1500/2000 rounds . I think tight group is very abrasive. Old john

It feels like the nationals except the weather will be great. The stages are as good and props actually are better on the whole. I would expect 10-12 stages. Old John

Frank is a great instructor. You better have lots of energy if you are doing three days in a row however. One day for me was more than I could absord and I was dragging. Good luck and go with an open mind to change. Enjoy, Old John

The ro's are shooting Sat. afternoon and early Sunday morning. I am not sure about Friday but my guess is someone will be there. I'll ask tomorrow and post info about a Friday range walking. Old john

Saturday morning 8:00 shooters meeting. The range will be open earlier for walking.
Sunday first shot at 8:45. The South Fl. section will provide a shooters free bar-b-q lunch Sunday. Vendors will be at the range Sat. for food purchase. The round count should be 258.
If I can get the satages I'll post them but it should be stright forward around cool props. Expect to finish Sunday around 3:30. Old John

Count on ten stages. The shooting for competitors will start Saturday morning and Sunday morning around 8:00. I would plan on a 250+ round count. The people here have worked hard on the props and they will look great. The stages will be challenging but you need not have a degree in rocket science to figure them out. I"ll get the true round count and start times and post tonight. Old John

most new mags won't run 100%. I was also having problems with my ST- mags which were tuned by a local gunsmith?? Beven had them back to me in two weeks and I feel the price was more than fair and he delivered more than I expected. They run great and I plan to have him look all my mags over every off season. old john

The Range is good to go!
Today was a work day at the match range and all the props were rebuilt. The Hurracine was actually a plus for the weekly shooters in that we now have really fine facilites for all the B.E. r's to enjoy. Old John

Tripp has built two open blasters for me in the past 18 months. We added two barrel holes (3/16 ) plus extra side ports (3/16) in the comp at the rear side of the baffel with 60 degrees up ward gas flow to the sides. The guns shoot so flat that the dot doesn't seem to move much at all making 168pf. The blaster can score but I won't seem to allow it to ! This is 38 super but gas is gas I thinkkkkk. Old John

Make sure you tell the people at the Inn you are there for the match. We just worked out the rate this morning with the owner so all that answer the phone may not be up to speed on the special rate for the match. old john

MOTEL NEWS. The Days Inn in Punta Groda has given a match rate of $59.00 per night. They are located near the range and their phone number is 941-637-7200. A map showing the range location can be found at WWW.swfps.com/hanmap.htm The weather should be clear and in the low 80's for the match. You've got to love S.W. Florida and this will be a fun match for a great cause ! Old John

The new hotel will be posted tomorrow. We are working on the rates trying for the lowest price near the range. I have spoken with the match director several times this week and it will be at the Punta Gorda location which is 25 miles north of Fort Myers. Old John

This match is moving due to the Naples range being sold to a developer (Toll Brothers) and will be closed 10/8/2005. Unfortunately, the local club, The Naples Swamp Rompers, just found out about this on Monday. The 2005 South Florida Championship will now be hosted at the Hansen Range and Gun Club in Punta Gorda, Florida. The Hansen range is home to the Ft. Myers River Rats Club whose President is Norie Haas, Brian Haas' Mother. This facility is located about 25 miles north of the Ft. Myers airport and very near to I-75. The range has wide bays and clean grass turf. The stages will be the same challenging stages as designed for the Naples range. A new match hotel will be posted by 10/6/2005. Please email Erikka at Erikka9393@aol.com, download the attachment, or check your current Front Sight for an application. Unfortunately, we are experiencing the same fate as many ranges across this great nation. Same story, different state.

The seating die(dillon) has a inside cup for either flat noise or round noise bullets. are you using the correct one with your bullet of choice? old john
