  1. Direct mount is a decent option then?  I was thinking the plate/filler was what people were using, but direct mount seems like a good option.  Lower the dot to the bore and all.

  2. I have a Sig 320 X5 Legion (box states built in Oct 2021).  Its off getting trigger work done.  I'm planning to mount a Trijicon SRO on it.  I see Springer Precision, CHPWS, EGW make plates for the X5/SRO combination.  I'm sure there are others.

My question is which plate?  I saw the EGW plate seems thicker, but is that a problem?

    thanks

  3. OK....   2.3.4 seems to cover it.  I guess it takes two people (Range Master & Match Director)

    2.3.4
If the Range Master (in consultation with the Match Director) determines that the physical or procedural change results in a loss of competitive equity and it is impossible for all competitors to attempt the revised stage, or if the stage has been rendered unsuitable or unworkable for any reason, that stage and all associated competitor scores must be deleted from the match.

    thanks!
  4. Please refresh my memory banks.... Was this always the case (the sentence I underlined)?

    Thanks

    c. The popper is left standing, and the competitor challenges the calibration.  In this case, the popper and the surrounding area on which it stands must not be touched, painted, or interfered with by any person.  If a Match Official violates this rule, the competitor must reshoot the course of fire.  If the competitor or any other person violates this rule, the popper will be scored as a miss and the rest of the course of fire will be scored “as shot”. If the popper falls for any non-interference reason (e.g. wind action), before it can be calibrated, Section 4.6 will apply and a reshoot must be ordered.

  5. I bought a holster for production division.  I ordered the Safariland ELS hole pattern on the holster.  This was an error on my part.  I like the holster itself.  I was wondering if anyone makes a "hanger" for the ELS pattern holster.  I looked on Google and here, but couldn't quite nail down an answer.  I use the Safariland ELS belt too.

    thanks....

  6. I shoot Production, Carry Optics, and Single Stack.  I like the rule changes, but for a different reason.  I had shoulder surgery (left) 40 years ago and am right handed.  Arthritis is making mag changes painful and this should help some of the pain.  Now to the stupid questions category.....

"14. Installed Flashlights permitted Yes, must be functional"

    1) So if the shooter removes the battery (or it dies), but its still functional, but not functioning is this good to go?
    2) Can the flashlight be attached and/or removed & re-attached  during the match (like a broken mount or it falls off)?

  7. I use the wicking type Under Armour T-shirts from Costco for the summer.  In the winter I use long sleeve T-shirts & wear a jacket over that when not shooting.  A fellow shooter used to wear a very large white button up dress shirt (long sleeve & un buttoned) over a T-shirt in the summer.  He bought a new shirt (a cheap one) every year and would throw away the shirt at the end of the season.

  8. On my Stock 2 I've broken/wore out the following parts....extractor (3x), firing pin (1x), Trigger return spring (1x, even though I replace it 1x a year), recoil spring (replaced 2x a year).  Total round count is about 50k through the stock 2 if that makes a difference.

Besides all the springs I would have an extractor ready to go.

  9. I'm using the Sprinco spring & firing pin block spring.

Regarding that little spring & pin.  I placed the spring & pin in and used the punch as a slave pin.  I then placed an allen wrench (don't remember the size) in the back part of the sear assembly.  This keeps the pin and spring from moving backwards and helps restrict the movement.  I then wiggled the pin in and pushed the punch out.  This worked on my second attempt.  I don't know if this method was blind luck or a working method.  All I know is I did not want to try it  a third time.  I did this after swearing at the assembly & German engineering for hours the night before.  I also had a few drinks after giving up.  The next morning with a clearer mind I got the spring in on the second attempt.

Can't wait for your tear down video!  Off topic question....What load do you use for your Walther Steel frame?

Forgot to mention I use my left finger (I'm right handed)  to keep the spring/pin from popping up.

    thanks!!
