  1. With a high quality barrel, you likely will be just as accurate with a shorter barrel. John Noveske always said to use the shortest barrel you could get away with for the purpose. I have 14.5, 16, 18, and 20 inch uppers. Those 14.5" lightweight barrels sure handle quickly in target transitions!

  2. Agreed. I started using the Safariland this year and it has been great.

I really like the Safariland 3 gun case as it has the little extension built into it for your shotgun tube, it is 47-48 inch bag with another 4 inch extension for your mag tube plus tons of other pockets and compartments for all your gear etc... very well made also -

I had a Voodoo tactical bag that I really liked but when I went to a 10 round tube it wouldn't fit anymore so I went to the Safariland and it is even nicer - Holsters.com is where you will find it -

  3. I have run Leupold 3-9 and 2.5-8 scopes, an Aimpoint T-1, and now a Vortex 1-6. The T-1 is the fastest by far out to 150 yards. Factor in how long it takes to switch the scope from1x to the higher magnification instead of just a mental holdover calculation and you see a slight difference in times on stages that have at least a few far/near switches.

  4. One definitely wants to train for all course conditions. It sounds best to wait to disengage the safety until pointing at the target. This would be especially true with a COF having you start facing uprange. I would hate to see someone disengage the safety with their hand on the gun while in the holster and turning!

  5. I have started getting into IDPA shooting this past year, and am loving it. One of the guys at the local club told me about this site, so here I am. Just wanted to say hi, and good shooting!
