I had the same issue as you. I put a spacer behind it to extend the button a bit and that solved the problem.

I looked at this thread a couple of weeks ago, and couldn't figure out what you meant. Now that my Cyclone came in today...I get it! I just turned the Cyclone upside down, and it works fine. I may look into getting a spacer figured out at some point, but for now it works well!

  2. I recently put together a 10.5" 9mm AR, and it shot incredibly well. A couple of days before my first match with this short fun gun, I pulled it apart to lube it up. Evidently, and unbeknownst to me, the firing pin spring took off when I pulled the bolt to lube it up. When I reassembled it, I put everything back together...except I had never had a blowback AR apart before so I didn't know there was supposed to be a spring on the firing pin. I didn't test fire the gun before the match, and stage 1 turned into a cluster. Oh the value of a $2 spring! When I figured out what was wrong, it was a quick fix. Sadly that didn't remove the FTE penalties from my score. Beware...blowback AR's require a spring that has guns don't!.

What kind of groups are you getting at 25 or 50 yards?

For better groups, I'd try same headstamps and different bullets - your

gun might prefer 124's, or a different brand.

Easy to try different OAL's also - bring it down to 1.12" and 1.13" - see if that helps.

Load development  is time consuming, but can be rewarding.    :)

I am getting about 4" groups with my 147 Xtreme load. It is definitely more consistent when I use all of the same headstamps. I might have to buy some Montana Gold bullets to see what results I get.

  4. I am just wondering what you guys are running for loads? I know each pistol will be different, and exonerate you from liability for my own dumb-assedness!

I have been shooting mixed brass, 3.2 gr of Titegroup, 147 gr Xtreme Bullets, loaded at 1.146. I am just trying to tighten up the groups. This load is acceptable, but not stellar.

  5. The base pads fit just fine on the Canadian mags, as those are the ones Dawson originally made them for. They aren't long enough to latch in place in the pro custom. I dropped my pistol at the gunsmith today for a little bit of work. Should have it back in a week. I told him I am not in a hurry, since bow season has taken my attention off of multi gun at this point of the year.

  6. The Dawson base pads fit on the new Pro Custom 9 mags. The Mecgar mags are too short for the new Pro Custom, and the old Canadian 20 round mags don't work either in the new pistol. Unfortunately we just have to wait until Para releases them.

  7. I am the guy that has the Krieger. If it won't shoot 77 match ammo, then I wouldn't waste another round on it. Send it off to be cryo'd and never look back. I wasted a couple hundred rounds of 77 SMK ammo and the time to reload them trying to find a load it would like. I should have listened to Joel (of V7 Weapon systems) right off the bat and sent my barrel away sooner.

  8. At our club level multi-gun match today, one of the stages started with 20 rounds from an M16 shorty on 4 IPSC targets (very cool!), then we transitioned to shotgun. There were 22 shotgun targets total, some outside of the shoot house and some inside, and then 16 pistol targets. I ran the machine gun like a champ, dumped it in the box, and ran the first 8 rounds from my Benelli pretty well on an array that included 3 small pieces of steel, 2 large poppers, 2 small poppers, and a clay off of a flipper. Took off to shoot an identical array on the other side of the shoot house while reaching down to my Chameleon Load Two belt...that I had forgotten to put on, and left on the table at the back of the bay because I got so enamored by the machine gun. I only had 1 round in the gun, and 2 rounds in my match saver mounted on the gun, so I shot 3 additional targets, and then could only dump the shotgun in the barrel and go to the pistol targets. Ended up getting 11 FTE penalties total on the stage (165 seconds). Lets just say I will look for my name on the bottom of the score list.

  9. I just went through this exact endeavor last week with your same equipment. I ended up at 3.6gr, with OAL of 1.145". I did note that using one brand of brass made a much bigger difference than it ever did with the 124's. Winchester brass with Federal primers worked best for me.

What kind of grouping were you able to get? As for the Speer brass, I get it for free. I'd hate to have to toss it all and buy new brass.

It is right at 2.07". Not spectacular by any means, but it was the best I could get. What is your goal? I wouldn't toss the brass. As long as it is all the same brand, that is the important part.

  11. Anybody using a P18 for multigun? Impressed? Disappointed? I have been using a Glock 34, but am wanting to make a switch. The P18 seems like an affordable option. Any opinions?
