Just picked up a MOS G34 for CO.  What is the best choice going for optics?  Heard good things about the window size on the Trijicon RMR but still undecided on power option and dot size.  Thanks.

  2. Thanks to Dillon and those who recommended removal of rachet tab.  I've lubed and adjusted so the machine runs now.  The springs (

    #13844  Short lever spring

#13936 Tab/Spring Arm Spring) are in but after looking at them, do i also replace the cotter pin they both ride on?  It looks that one of half of it is already broken off and trying to remove and rebend it may break it.

Next issue: i'm getting both primers that aren't removed and then some primers that seat just before they are flush.  Primers before I broke the rachet tab were seating completely (below flush). I did run one piece of brass all the way around the press solo, and it did fine.  When I put in two in a row, the first one is not fully seated, but the second is...

Any feedback is appreciated.  Thanks all.

  3. I'm running some .40 S&W that barely makes Major with 155/165 & 180s.  I may go with some 200s.  Shot my first match with it the stock G40 and had my first malfunction with it.  Is it possible to outrun this setup?

Will the #20 still prevent damage from full house 10mm loads?

  4. So, I've been a Dillon 550B owner since 2000 and have loaded 20,000+ rounds on it since then (mostly 9/40/45).  Picked up a RL1050 around the new year from a widow who decided to finally offload it after it sat dormant since 2008.  After adjusting the powder bar and overall length, I dumped some N350 and fresh primers.  Enjoying a case feeder and primer pocket de-crimp was nice, but about every 10-20 rounds, the Primer Arm Cam assembly rotates out of alignment and the whole machine seems to lock mid-stroke, cause numerous issues (and frustration).  In one such moment of frustration, the damn RL1050 Operator broke the Ratchet Restriction Tab into 2 pieces.  A quick call to Dillon got a replacement part (plus a new manual and additional Dillon pieces) on the way.

Can anyone explain the Primer Arm Cam rotation, stoppage issue and how to keep from getting double powder loads/unseated bullets and un-primed ammo?  I'd like to churn out 9mm faster than the 550B, but may end up selling off this RL1050.  I've heard other platforms are more complicated than the 550B and it may be beyond my mental capacity to operate such a machine.  Thank you.

  5. I put on a Faxon 18" 3 Gunner barrel a few months ago. It amazes many when they pick it up, very light with 15" Samson Evo FFT. That barrel shoots just over 1 MOA, after a full magazine dump, with bulk ammo. YMMV.

  6. I'm just looking into PRK surgery. Where did you have the surgery done, in WV? I'm near Martinsburg. How is the shooting going this far afterwards. I'm looking to have mine done in the late season, hoping to be ready by next season. Thanks.

  7. Another fan of American Select in 9mm loads. 8 lbs, 4.7 grains at a time, over a 115 MT JHP. Soft shooting and nearly fills the case before the bullet goes it. Fairly clean and softer recoil. Would get another keg for 9 minor. Think it would be above redline for 40 major.

Would consider trying Promo for 40 major, given what is posted here. Maybe try E3 also.

  8. Trying 155 MTG JHP with 5.7 & 6.0 AmSel at 1.14: the 6.0 gr was about 1056 from P2K at 10'. That is about min. for major PF. Bumped up to 6.1.

Shot the USMS match and came in first by 20 sec.

    First stage= shotgun x 4 on the move, then 4 triple-tap.

Second= flip box memory times three sets of two.

Third= rifle, moving, reload behind cover and transition to pistol

Fourth= shotgun, off hand only, shotgun

Fifth= pistol in car, exit, transition to rifle

Mica results were expected, but they bumped off the best % off the site. Only up to 65.66 from 64.05, need more classifiers and trigger time.

  9. 5/28- shot the modified Miculek comp with duty loads and WOW, no muzzle rise.

5/29- P2K and 15-22 work. Used the new dropped L2 and it feels better, the elbow will tell over time. 1.12-1.20 draw and hit on bell at 5 yds. 2.7-9: draw, hit, reload from lockback, hit on bell at 5 yds.

    Trying 155 MTG JHP with 5.7 & 6.0 AmSel at 1.14

  10. P2K- 5 yds from SL2. Cold draw, 1.12 hit bell. Draw as low as 1.02, not hit. Hit 1.04-8. Lockback down to 1.45, one draw, hit, reload, hit in 2.6. Others under 3.0. Draw, fire, reload, fire, reload, fire reloads went up near 1.8-2.0..

  11. First Mica WA match, special classifier. Felt overly deliberate, slow. Got some good hits, one No Shoot, two Mikes. 4th overall, of 59. Hit the gas peddle on last stage and one that stage with 6 A & 6C. One round did not seat, causing Stage 1. Otherwise everything ran fine.

Today: P2K draw from Serpa level 2- 1.2-.5 on 5 yd @ steel tube. Reloads from lockback, 1.6-1.8. Three consecutive draw/hit, reload, hit under 2.93.

  12. Some 15-22 & G34 work lately.

    G34 draw (power-speed holster), 7 yd, 9" steel- 0.99 to 1.15s (50/50 hits). reloads, 1.4-1.6, lockback or not; 1-1-1 about 5.0s

15-22 splits usually .16-.19, some .15; 10 shot drill at 8 yds on 12" steel, from low ready- 2.23-2.50s

  13. lots of 22/45 work, some P2K work. Got some steel yesterday, with handloads. All shots on full steel about 10 yds. ElP about 5.1-2. Splits .20-24. Transitions .4ish. Reloads 1.6-8, from lockback. Draw about 1.4.

  14. Just got to load up a few hundred this week and it is running like a top again. Thanks to Dillon.

Got the new bolt yesterday. Should get to test it tonight. Thanks for great Dillon service.

If the parts won't free up, phone or drop us an e-mail with an address so we can mail replacements.

    Thank you.

  15. It sounds like some galling in the recess in the top of the index sprocket.Use grease on the underside of the head of the shellplate bolt, and deburr as needed. The bolt should be fine.

Thanks for the note on the set screw above. That seems to have worked. I will try some compound and a Dremel to smooth it. If that doesn't work, how do I get a new shellplate bolt and index sprocket?

    Thanks all.
