Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. 2009 Louisiana State was great match with excellent stages. It was well officiated by 1st time MD Kyle O. Cody
  2. The Texas State IDPA Championship hosted by Collin County IDPA is June 7th in Greenville, Texas (Just east of Dallas) 12 great stages, no standards, round count is over 200. The prize table is well over $18,000 and more on the way. Lunch is included and will be caterd by Dickie's BBQ. At this writing we will have 9-12 Springfield XD Tacticals and 1 S & W certificate for the M & P of your choice. Go to http://www.ccidpa.org/sp_event/txs08_inf.html for more information and a match application. Max number of shooters is 200; we have about 49 slots left. Sailor
  3. The Texas State IDPA Championship scheduled for June 7th is filling up sooner than later. If you have been procrastinating sending in your match application now is the time to send it in. We had to turn away so many shooters last year at a 175 shooter max. It's 200 shooters this year and 12 stages.....that's it. Hope to see y'all there. 4. It was truly a great opportunity for Collin County IDPA to host this event for the NRA. Marc Lipp and Larry Houck of the NRA worked as hard as we did to get the stages set up and make sure this event supporting our law enforcement officers went smoothly. The next club that hosts an NRA TPC event can expect these gentlemen to give you all the support you need. Larry Houck has to be one of the best stage designers, builders, and hard workers I've seen in a long time and it was a pleasure to work with him. CCIDPA designed the stages for this match, Marc and Larry modified them to better suit LE scenarios...As Mr. Morris stated the scoring was different but was also easy for our SO's to learn and to adapt our scoring program. Collin County IDPA and it's members are proud to have been associated with this 1st NRA TPC match and we certainly recommend that any shooting club/range with the resources put forth the effort to help out with this worthy endeavor. It is a great thing to give back to those that serve us. Cody Ray Collin County IDPA
  5. The 1st NRA Tactical Police Competition match is this weekend, in Greenville, TEXAS at Jacob's Plain Gun Club just 40 miles or so east of Dallas. You are certainly welcome to come watch or send me your info through our web site at www.ccidpa.org and I'll keep it for the next one we host. Cody
  6. Collin County IDPA www.ccidpa.org agreed to host the very 1st NRA Tactical Police Competition upon the request of one of our members. He is a local Police Officer, Police Firearms Instructor, IDPA ESP MA, and good friend. Collin County IDPA was elated to have this opportunity to help further the shooting skills of our local Police Officers. He asked us because of our club's organizational skills backed up by the past record of highly successful IDPA sanctioned matches Collin County IDPA has produced. Collin County IDPA hosted the 2005/2006 North Texas Regional matches, the 2007 Texas State IDPA Championship and before this the 1998, 1999, and 2000 State Matches. This coming June 7th, Collin County IDPA will be hosting the 2008 Texas State IDPA Championship where 200 shooters will be throwing lead downrange for magnificent trophies and an unbelievable prize table. Did I mention the USPSA club we started??? All that said, we have Police Officers coming from as far away as San Francisco to participate. So much for the plug.............We realize that in helping the NRA organize this match that we are helping Police Officers shoot more and possibly begin to enjoy shooting. If we can provide a venue where Police Officers in general begin to look at shooting as something that can be fun instead of "practice," or worse yet "work," and then have a place for them to further this concept every weekend, we have accomplished the goal. Folks....this is about Police Officers, whether local, county, or federal it IS about them. We civilians choose to learn to shoot for whatever reason....we don't have to carry a gun (although if you're smart you do), Police Officers do. Police Officers train differently than civilians. Civilians practice/play at IDPA/USPSA and maybe train defensively at one of the many shooting schools that are cropping up across the country. Many of us are good shooters....some of us are really great shooters...but we still don't train the same, Police Officers do train the same........This is why the Collin County IDPA members, that are willingly and cheerfully working this match knowing they have -0- opportunity for the substantial prize table reserved for the benefit of the Police Officers, as it should be, will shoot this match the day before. Match day will be devoted to serving those that serve us. Cody Ray President, Collin County IDPA
